The first time I was elgible to vote was in 1976. Do you realize that every Republican Party national ticket beginning in 1976 has had a Bush or a Dole it?

That's what I call a dynasty.

As always, the nominee will come from the ranks of a currently sitting governor.

Guiliani

Kicked his wife out of Gracie Mansion by a news announcement

Flanted his girlfriend all over

Nasty divorce

TOO MUCH BAGGAGE

The nomination of the pro - choice candidate will be the beginning of the end because all the Conservative Christians would leave the party and Guiliani's nasty divorce will make some people uncomfortable.

Bill First 5/2

Why, no wonder he's first!

So your thinking is that social conservatives should continue to support a party that would no longer be socially conservative less the social conservatives have not voice at all? That's just senseless.

No way will Jeb run in 2008...he's still young enough to way till 2012, 2016....Jeb is the man. Keyes/Rice - not in this lifetime. I love Condi - can't stand Keyes....I used to like Frist until he became leader but he has no backbone! those are my thoughts for whatever they're worth! My ideal ticket? J. Bush/Condi.....

I'm saying that social conservatives shouldn't act like social issues are the only things that should matter to the GOP.

I personally think Giuliani will be the nominee.

Nope. He is pro-abortion and pro-gay. I really don't see him surviving a primary.

He is a favorite of the Party Uber Alles crowd though.

I missed this election of Sanford. SC regained it's sanity electing an R. Another reason in my consideration of leaving PA for the conservative state of South Carolina (Besides the fact that one of my daughters lives there)

I choose Sanford or Romney. I think Romney could carry MA. Things may be changing up there esp. when Kerry loses. I think the Kennedy clan is losing it's power and Ted too vitriolic.

Whoever it is they have to have the strength to beat Hillary. Can't let her get in.

Because the life issue is the canary in the mineshaft.

Invariably, Republican pro aborts are squishy on a whole host of other issues important to Conservatives.

"I'm very religious, but do not inject it into politics"

No offense but your statement is ridiculous.

All politics and all law are a reflection of values.

You mean you do not evaluate any candidate based on your own values?

A question that is in no need of an answer, of course you do. Where do your values come from? What is their intellectual foundation?

Do you think it's okay to murder someone? If not, why not?

Is it okay to molest children? Of course not, but why isn't it?

There are some people that think child molestation laws interject religion into politics, should we eliminate those also?

Law and politics have always been based on the moral structure of a people. A moral structure largely determined by their dominant religion or religions.

What isn't going to happen is a pro-abort R that can win the Presidency. I have a better chance of a few good judicial appointments then you have of getting what you want.

So answer your own question, why waste your time?

"The Republican Party is supposed to be about low taxes, less government and a strong military"

That's not what the Republican Party Platform says.

Why do you think you get to define what the Republican Party is supposed to be about?

Here's my question to the so-called "Activists" who claim to be true conservatives: We're at war. Are you really willing to trust the security of our country to the 'Rats (Who are openly pro-abortion) instead of a party that has some RINOS in it? In many ways, the attitude of some social conservatives is just as pre-9-11 as that of the trolls who rule at DU.

Mods are the ones that want to risk the winning coalition not Conservatives.

Now all of a sudden you're talking about the war?

If you care so much about the war don't vote for a Mod and you won't provoke a split in the coalition.

I never said I didn't want pro-aborts in the R party.

I merely argued that it is highly unlikely one would be nominated for President in the foreseeable future.

You're just mad because you know I'm right and you are unable to argue your point so you start name calling.

I suggest you read the Republican Party platform one of these days. It is pro-life and pro-family as is the statement of principles for this website.

So no, I don't decide, the majority of Republicans and Conservatives do.

Hey, BTW, have you ever seen this? Please pay special attention to the third paragraph. I know I'm in the right place. Are you?

Statement by the founder of Free Republic:

In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I'm trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.

Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.

Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.

We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.

Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.

May God bless and protect our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom and may God continue to bless America.

Jim Robinson
