USA Today

Posted on 09/27/2004 1:28:14 PM PDT by slowhand520

Despite the negativity regarding these polls by the MSM these internal numbers show a different story. Bush increases his lead on Kerry in every aspect. Take a look!

Gotta love the MSM... classic...

"Poll: Bush Lead Shrinking"

Despite the fact that the difference between 11 and 8 isn't as dramatic as that headline suggests and the fact that his lead among RVs increased...

Hah! Look at this:

Bush Certain Voters - 47%
Bush voters may change mind - 5%

Kerry Certain Voters - 37%
Kerry voters may change mind - 7%

This is unbelievably bad for Kerry.

Bush Certain Voters - 47%

That seems really low.

I'm not a big believer in polls unless they show a definite trend and you are right, the internals of this poll show a great trend for the President.

Excellent movement in almost all categories. Very promising to see the breakdown as it is. With 47% certain they will vote for Bush, Kerry has to sway 5% who are not solidly with Bush. If Bush can sway 1 or 2% of the non-solid Kerry voters, he'll coast to victory.

Despite the fact that the difference between 11 and 8 isn't as dramatic as that headline suggests and the fact that his lead among RVs increased...

And despite the fact that the "decline" for Bush most likely was due to a change in how the GOP/Dem split of the sample worked out.

Yes the internals do look pretty good. My only worry is these darn oil prices. I am suspicious that there is more than the market at play here.

Very comparable to this:
Presidential Popularity
Question: qn1 Field Date: 10/26/1996-11/3/1996
Do you approve or disapprove of the way Bill Clinton is handling his job as President?
Mean: N/A   Total N: 1753
      % N
  1 Approve 55.21 968
  2 Disapprove 31.69 556
  3 Don't know/No answer 13.10 230
