What CRIME did she commit?

Disturbing the peace is a crime. Resisting arrest is a crime.

I have to side with the cop on this one. The loudmouth was obviously playing hookey from Commonsense School the day they taught the lesson on not sassing large, uniformed men who wear a badge and carry firearms. And she jeopardized the health of her own baby to boot, all for the sake of a little street theater on her part.

I hope her baby is all right. Its not his fault his jerk mother-to-be has an attitude.

Sounds like a bully to me. If that was the cops attitude, he probably got practice in Middle School picking on little girls and making them give him their milk money.

She was not disturbing the peace. On top of that, you cannot be convicted of resisting an illegal arrest.,P> the city is going to pay for this one; and they should.

Sure thing, then how do all these kids with boom boxes manage to not get arrested? And the ten zillion megawat stereos with all base all the time in the cars, pull them over and arrest them too? As for the 'resisting arrest' charge, that's the most common 'tack-on' charge the police use to protect themselves when they know they've over-reacted. He could have ticketed her, that was the best way to go. The 'offense' was utterly petty.

The cop needs to learn what a crime is and what isn't. It isn't his job to monitor the manners of ordinary citizens. Whats next, fashion police? Attitude police? Thought police?

Just because someone is rude doesn't give anyone the right to beat them up. I suspect this lady will win a large settlement because the city knows that if she goes to court she is going to win.
