Since I don't know your area, I can't really comment on your last post. However, I would not lump all cops nation wide into what you see as a travesty in your area. Cops who are retired have carried for many years already. Are there bad apples? Sure. There are. But by and large a guy putting his butt on the line for 30+ years and making it to retirement (provided it's good to go) should have no reason but to carry nation wide. Favor's from chief's is another story and needs to be dealt with at your local level.

Your Right, I am a former Police Officer and I will bet you a dollar to a donut that this officer tried to first do this the easy way, trust me, he doesn't want this kind of press. The pompous woman probably did something to escalate this situation. I remember once while I was booking a woman into the jail for DWI, who by the way was pregnant, this woman was loud and belligerent and when the jailer made the mistake of not removing a large ceramic ashtray from the booking room the woman grab it and hit me across the head. She later had her baby in Prison. I always give Cops the benefit of the doubt until I hear from other Cops whether something is true or not, the media, in general is untrustworthy..

no offense meant to cops.just that I think any citizen, cop or not, who is qualified and legally able should be able to carry anywhere the police can.
I'm an exciteable boy.
