The Earthquakes At Mt St Helens Are INCREASING In Size & Frequency

I was just reading another thread on this subject, when I came to the line stating that the quake intensity and frequency had diminished on Monday. That it complete eyewash - for whom I don't know. Evidently they don't want to scare the masses - just in case. The thread I'm referring to is located here.

Below I'm posting the last three seismographs for you to see that this claim is bogus indeed. This swarm is appearing to grow, with over 1,000 earthquakes so far since Thursday. The depth of the quakes is still near the surface, and they are saying that this could be caused by rain water getting through the lava dome causing steam explosions. I can't comment on that other than we've had little or no rain for some time now. This almost has to be caused by moving magma.

Anyway, here are the charts: This first one is from Monday evening. Note the white spaces you see on this chart:

This second chart covers the first half of today (using GMT time) - White spaces? Nope. (And that isn't wind shaking the equipment.)

Finally, here is the current chart. Note that the jolts are getting taller, and the frequency hasn't diminished.

This swarm has become worrisome for anyone living near the mountain. The other thread states that the lava dome is over 900" tall inside the caldera now, and the last report I read on that had the dome's height below 600 feet. Evidently it has grown - but at what rate and exactly when is unknown.

Actually there are quite a few people who live in the effective downwind area of it. I'm one of them.

I heard if there is an eruption it will not be of the magnitude as the 1980 eruption.

I live 200 miles south/east and in 1980 we had ash cover the ground. I have a small jar filled with it still.

I would for sure. Most likely all we'd get here at my place would be heavy ashfall. No biggie as long as you keep the rooftops swept clean. (And it doesn't rain.)

The upside to that would be that St Helens ash makes beautiful green gemstones when heated. Like emeralds, only more intense.

I also heard that there are several volcano's at this time showing activity. Mammoth in California is one and one in Hawaii. There are several in the RING OF FIRE showing activity.

Not to make light of it but I have heard that the ash is the very best thing for lawns and gardens. Is that the result you had?
