You know, I tell my homeschooled kids something all of the time:
"You may have to worry about getting spanked at school, but you don't have to worry about being shot."

Cute but not exactly accurate. Obviously there are more violent incidents in a public school than your home (although I must say my brother and I fought more at home than I ever fought at school), but the vast majority of kids who are shot on purpose or by accident are shot outside of the school setting.
