John Kerry has strongly criticized the Bush administration for its "go it alone" - or unilateral - approach to foreign policy. For months, Kerry has claimed America has shouldered too much of the burden in Iraq by itself. He says he would have taken a multi-national - or multilateral - approach, bringing along more allies for the fight and the reconstruction afterwards.....

Not much of a fan of Military.com lately, but this is a good article on Kerry's mistaken view on the North Korea problem and multilateralism versus unilateralism.

sKerry's plan to have unilateral talks with the North Koreans only underlines the fact that he doesn't have a grasp on the situation, or reality, for that matter.
Since 1950, the North Koreans have not responded to anyone but the Red Chinese. Why does he think they would be any different this time?

Rehash of Kerry self-contradiction in the 1st debate -
Kerry: For coalition lead solution in Iraq ~ Against coalition lead solution in Korea.
Kerry: Against "unilateralism" in Iraq ~ Pro unilateralism in Korea.
To determine Kerry's position on any topic apply the FN John rule - Whatever Bush's opinion, claim the opposite

You're exactly right. Kerry is a trained high school debater. He will debate the opposite side of every position his opponent has. He is too predictable. Clinton was less predictable.

The main reason Kim Jong Il is in favor of unilateral talks with the US is for propaganda purposes and spreading anti Americanism in s korea. To a lot of south koreans unilateral talks between the US and DPRK proves that the south koreans are a puppet with no control over their own policy vis a vis north korea. The commie sympathizer Kerry would be playing right into Kim Jong Il's hands. What a jackass.
