The main point is that Kerry is not offering a middle-class tax cut as he continually claims. It's only a few targeted tax credits for a less-than-majority segment of the population.
Agree? Disagree?
Did we not in 1992 get a promise of tax cuts for the middle class and ended up with a tax increase??
You miss the subtlety. He's going to increase taxes on the middle class, and then he's going to say that since Bush's tax cut was mostly delayed, Kerry's tax increase is actually a tax cut, just not as much as Bush's.
You only get a tax cut under the Kerry plan if:
(1) You have a child under age 18, or
(2) You have a child in college, or
(3) You or your spouse is in college.
The tax deductions/credits will probably be limited to those making under $100K.
Oh, by the way... in the debate, Kerry mentioned the Gov't Health Care Plan savings as a tax cut... it has nothing to do with taxes.
You'll enjoy Kerry's "middle class tax cut" just as much as the one you got from Bill Clinton.
(1) Tax CREDIT for child care increased by $1,000. My 3 child family won't qualify despite my home-schooling wife's education expenses and occasional baby-sitting needs.
(2) $4,000 tuition tax credit. No college, no tax credit. Starting to sound like the Al Gore "tax cuts".
(3) Lowering health care costs. Uh, that ain't a tax cut. Gar-on-teed.
(4) Cut taxes for businesses. That bit is on John Kerry.com. But wait... didn't he also say in the debate that he'd close tax loopholes for corporations? Hmmm...
(5) Cut Middle-class Taxes to Raise Middle-Class Incomes. Also on JohnKerry.com. No details, just a promise that 98% of all Americans and 99% of American businesses will get a tax cut. I'm sorry, the numbers don't jive. And I don't qualify for anything in your plan, despite having a household income well under that magic $200,000.
Yep, I think he lied.
When a flip-flopping serial tax raiser looks you in the eye and states that he is not going to raise your taxes, grab your wallet and run.
Yes, I agree. When he said it my first thought was, 58, no kids, not in school, so what does that do for my low middle income? Not a damn thing. It's just another goodies promise for certain classes of people. Hey guys, here are some lollipops .... vote for me. No one is talking about his real tax increase. He says 'only going to increase taxes on the top 2%, but NO one is asking about other taxes. I know the liberal political game. He has them 'divided' in his mind into separate categories, and making sure he NEVER mentioned them at all, Marriage Penalty, Dividend taxes, are not 'income taxes', and no one ASKS him directly about them. Marriage penalty, what will you do about that now existing correction to eliminate the penalty? Dividends, what will you do about that now existing lower rate?
Sure, he would've had to lie (again), but at least it would've made him a little queasy and less believable than he already is.
You mean after making a six figure income for eight years that's all he's managed to keep?? And this guy wants to manage your money?? Yea, I know that commie ain't worth a plug nickel anyway.
AH HA. That's it isn't it.
KERRY IS NOT GOING TO 'RAISE TAXES' HE IS GOING TO LET THE BUSH TAX CUTS EXPIRE (or be repealed)!!!
Was there not a expiration date on most of those tax cuts?
Under Kerry, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET...but it will not be to your liking.
Kerry keeps harping about the 900,000 taxpayers who made more than $200,000 last year, most of whom are businesses. Taking their taxcut away will result in immediate layoffs and reduce job creation since small businesses create 70% of new jobs.
And how much these top 1% taxpayers will have to pay?
Something less than $90 Billion/year. And how much is Lurch proposing
to spend on his health care, education and other social programs? Something like $2.8 TRILLION. You do the math. I am not holding my breath waiting for a taxcut from Kerry and his trial lawyer sidekick.
No one is talking about sKerry's "tax cut".. they are all "tax credits." Which apply to a smaller portion of our society. Meaning that you have to do x or y to recieve those tax cuts..
Which means that unless you do what the government wants you to do, your screwed. More taxes for you!
I thought I heard Kerry say he is going to roll back the tax-cut on those making over $200k such that the same amount of taxes will be collected. That is more than just a rollback if other cuts are made.
I wonder if Kerry will support the UN income tax...Of course he does, he just won't say it.

In other words, a typical liberal redistribution plan. Socialism at its finest - get somebody else to pay for it. Kind of like alGore want to cut taxes for the "right" people.
Wake up, leftist buttheads - the "right" people are the ones paying the tax.
Hey, he's doing better than he did as Mayor of Cleveland - at least he's not buried in red ink (and blaming the bank for his problem).
And with any amount of luck around here he won't be making six figures after Nov. 2.
