> EDWARDS: We will not raise taxes on the middle class, as John said clearly.

No, he said he would give a middle class tax CUT, clearly.

So it's Bush's fault that he didn't attend those meetings. Pathetic.

He didn't say it, but more than likely, tax cuts and defense spending would be the first to go so they could spend more money on their entitlement programs.

His selection was Kerry's biggest mistake.

Selecting such a lightweight pretty boy was definetely a 910 decision.
What was Kerry thinking? Pretty boy lawyer from the south would help get him what votes?
Such a decision is scary when you realize that Kerry is unable to sense the gravity of the world we live in and that as president he would be the target of terrorists. A wise decison would have been to be sure he left the country in strong capable hands...not a Breck girl.

His selection was Kerry's biggest mistake.

Talk about a VP choice losing an election for you. Edwards stopped their momentum in the Tuesday debate, and his comments on Sunday shows has given a lot of ammo to Bush.

And then I watched what was happening under this administration....I came to the conclusion that the only real solution to this was to get George Bush out of the White House. And that's when I decided to run for president, and that's the period of time that they're talking about.

So he blames his absenteeism on the President. Kinda like Courtney Love blaming the Prez for her troubles, eh? So in a roundabout way, he acknowledges his being AWOL, but please, his intentions were noble. That excuses everything.

So his excuse is that he started running for President starting his first year in the Senate?! Gotta wonder what folks in his state think about that.

He started running for POTUS the second he was sworn into the Senate.

And I am in his state; he wasn't going to win re-election for the Senate anyway. His own town, you know -- the milltown -- went sold Bush/Cheney in 2000.

He's been in Iowa more than he's been here. Or in the Senate, for that matter.

As I said above, if they were to be elected, he'll be running from the second he's sworn in as VP.

Don't forget New Hampshire where he spent a good part of the year leading up to the primaries, meeting "regular" folk.

I wish the president would make the point during a debate that when Kerry raises taxes on corporates, that the money eventually comes out of the pocket of the consumers. AKA the middle class.

Edwards admits mistake on WMDs

Published October 11, 2004

MIAMI (AP) -- Sen. John Edwards said it was a mistake to believe Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, as he paused a Midwest campaign swing to make the round of talk shows yesterday.

The Democratic vice presidential nominee defended his record and criticized President Bush in appearances on five programs, while Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry campaigned in southern Florida.

Mr. Edwards later stopped at a diner in West Allis, Wis., where he criticized Mr. Bush's handling of the economy and promised to create more jobs and support working women by improving health care and child care. "This is the first president in 70-plus years who didn't create jobs," the North Carolina senator said to about 40 working women.

Appearing on ABC's "This Week," Mr. Edwards was asked -- as Mr. Bush was in the presidential debate on Friday -- to name three mistakes during his time in office. He named two, saying it was a mistake to vote for Rod Paige as education secretary and to believe Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, Mr. Bush's primary rationale for invading that country.
