Since you can't hardly get in or out of Austin, the houses located in the city have about tripled in value in recent years.

I was up there for SXSW last year on business and I've never seen so many losers in one place in all my life.

If they wanted to follow Houstons lead and put in a new toll highway, I'd say fine. But what exactly are they proposing here? If it's just standing up toll booths on the existing infrastructure, the only thing that is going to move is money out of your wallet.

You nailed it. That is why so many here are up in arms about the whole idea.

I have no problem with new toll roads, if all the monies collected remains in a fund that can be used for the highways only. I fear that this money will go the way of the highway tax on gasoline. Anyone know where that went? It sure did not stay in the highway fund.

It's just a new way for politicians to raise money and not call it a tax.

On this map, 130 and 45 are new roads to be paid for by tolls. I have no problem with that. All the other roads highlighted I have already paif for as a resident of central TX for over 30 years. I have a big problem with that.
