Kerry's persuasive answers (Just a spin meister?)
Boston Globe ^ | October 14, 2004 | Joan Vennochi

.......Rolling back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans is Kerry's standard answer to that persistent question. Since the president behind those tax cuts -- George W. Bush -- can't seem to poke serious holes in Kerry's assertion during their face-to-face encounters, voters will draw their own conclusions. And Kerry's all-gain, no-pain prescription for what ails the nation's domestic policy sounds tempting.

In contrast to his disastrous performance in the first debate, Bush did not scowl or slump. For the most part he maintained a frozen smile as he tried to depict Kerry as an out-of-the-mainstream, old-fashioned, Ted Kennedy liberal. But the attack did little, if any, damage. Bush was never able to shake Kerry out of sometimes windy but always confident answers. The president had one decent, if rehearsed comeback, saying at one point that "a plan is not a litany of complaints.".....

Some Kerry praise, that!

Here is a GREAT editorial but it can't be posted. It's worth your time.

New dawn for Bush - A Texas-sized optimism outshone Kerry's debating skills

The answer helped Kerry more than Bush. Voters know that the Massachusetts senator has a brain. They want to know he has heart, and he revealed a little more of it last night.

AHA!

And thus the weird little question on Zogby's latest interactive poll.

Would you rather have the Tin Man (no heart, but a brain) or the Scarecrow (no brain, but a heart) for President?

Guess the respondents to the poll preferred the Scarecrow!!!

I thought The President was who he is, a man of integrity, principled, down to earth, and consistent in his beliefs.
He is a man who can be TRUSTED.

I didn't learn this from the debates, but I've seen it action for over the term of his first Presidency, he is a man who didn't stick his finger in the wind, when making hard decisions, he didn't have to, he KNEW and I think most of America knows, he was and is being guided, by forces higher than polls results.

This man is battling a war on two fronts, a war against a evil , faceless enemy and a war against socialism and the remaining traces of communism in our own country.

God speed.

And he has an army at home too. We all need to report for duty.

I reported for duty in his army in 2000 and won't go AWOL, and although injured at times, will not put in for purple hearts, will not put in for leave and will stay loyal to the cause far beyond the next four years. I'm a 'lifer'.

How about when Kerry said the tax break given the top one percent of country's richest would have saved Social Security through 2075? It's amazing, they can lie through their teeth knowing full well the MSM will not call them on ANYTHING they say! I don't know the answer.

The Globe ignores Bushes tag on Kerry last night. I.E. that Kerry makes Senator Teddy Kennedy look like a conservative.

What do you expect from the lamestream media?
