Can John Kerry Cure Cancer?
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 10/15/4 | Mark Morford

Posted on 10/15/2004 7:59:14 AM PDT by SmithL

Miracle worker or no, after the tyranny of BushCo, a "normal" prez will be a blessed relief

There will not be a great parting of the clouds.

There will not be brighter flowers and happier puppies. There will not be massive choruses of angels singing and birds chirping and dolphins finally standing upright and speaking fluent Latin and saying we knew it all along.

Let's be real: Should Kerry win this election, we are most likely not in for a spectacular and unprecedented ride of shiny progressive glory that will astound the world and reignite the collective soul and float us all to the hereafter on golden wings of sparkly well-lubed bliss. OK?

I know, this is not a popular angle. After all, we desperately need this feeling. We need to be ignited by raw hope and urgent hyperbole and to feel that some massive, silly platitude is at work, some hollow line like Reagan's infamous "morning in America," supposedly heralding a huge transformational rebirth and not, as Reagan actually brought, massive deficits, and ignorance, and homophobia, and corporate welfare and deregulation and environmental destruction and class warfare and self-righteous conservative indignation, amen.

Why the hell can't San Fran just break off into the ocean?

OK, I know that's not something we can actually do. There are some perfectly good conservatives there, all 14 of them.

Morford is an annoying little sissy.

Latin? It's Gaelic that's called "The Language of the Garden of Eden"...

By the way she looks like in pics, she is boozed up all day. BTW, Laura Ingraham is talking about this on her show now.

Hey now thats a great idea(rr)! Well, if San Francisco breaks off and falls into the ocean, I am that much closer to having beach front property. My property value did increase about 19% last year, I wonder homw much it would increase if it were beach front? UMMMMMMMMMMM

You failed to include LA. If LA and SF where to disappear, conservatives might actually have a chance in this state!

" Can John Kerry Cure Cancer?" Of course he can! Haven't you seen the yellow bracelet he wears? I can't believe this question is even asked! Don't you know who he is? Did you know he was in Vietnam? Are you questioning his patriotism?

My wife spotted that MONTHS ago and said she looked drugged. Being married to Frankenstein, she NEEDS to be.

Here's a secret for everybody.

The high price of oil WILL cause a recession in 2005-2006.

The stock market is signalling that right now.Look at the charts.

The recession will be tough.

It will make today's economy look like a cornucopia.

The choices we face on Nov. 2 are stark.

Bush will weather the recession.

He has had experience in battling recessions.

Kerry might ignite a depression.

Remember Jimmy Carter?

Kerry is a bigger fool.

It's time to cash out of properties that are at peak values now and find smaller domociles.

I've been an optimist my entire life, until now.

Sorry for the downer, but my gut is right more times than not.

Just another nuisance to go along with terrorism.
