WASHINGTON -- Mamoun Darkazanli, one of the most elusive and mysterious figures associated with Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 hijackers, was arrested Friday in the German port city of Hamburg. He faces extradition to Spain to stand trial in a Sept. 11-related prosecution expected to begin early next year in Madrid.

Spain gets him first?
Why not the US?
Darn. I was hoping it was Marc Rich.
(That's my dream "October Surprise" scenario.)
Because Spain asked for him - and not the US. Btw, since he acted in Europe, he may be related to the Madrid bombings.
Marc Rich - clintoon's money man - do you suppose it was the oil for food money that can be traced directly to the wife buying the pardon?

Just great. Now they have bottled up the day care center construction monies that Patty Murray (D WA, Osama Momma) had been relying on.
We still need a few other fugitive friends of the Clintons. James and Mochtar Riady in Indonesia.
There's a judge in Spain that's been going after terrorists for at least a couple of decades. If that is the guy that issued the supenea, the Jihadie money man will be in good hands. The spanish system works a bit differently than ours in terms of the role of judges verses prosecutors. If this is the judge I'm thinking about, senor raghead is toast. And I can't say I much care who does the toasting, as long it gets done. Of course if the Spanish don't take care of him, we can always extridite his a$$ and do the job ourselves.
"extradition to Spain", now theres a scary senario... Threaten them with reprisals and they'll sign you're shoes, feed you, and apologize all the way to the airport...
