What if the owner thinks it's very tasteful? Apparently your sense of taste trumps your neighbors' freedom.

He needs a big sign telling everyone how he is against all gun shows. How he has tried legal action to stop them. He also has tried to influence legislators to make laws to prohibit them.
Don Davis is out for Don Davis's pocket!

"I need to buy a giant rock. I heard I can score some from the Ohio NAACP."
NOW THAT'S A KICK IN THE JUNK. :)
To: Modernman
Probably something to the effect that you can't put up permanent signs in your front yard. That rock is not a sign. It was a natural occurence in stone--you know, kind of like seeing the image of the Virgin Mary in a tree.

hehehe you sound like you want to buy one :-) Ah well it's better than a Kerry for President sign. Now that's truly ugly.

My personal favorites on signs near my brother's house in Marana AZ. "There is nothing on these premises worth getting shot over".
"If you can read this, you are in range".
Great signs :)

" Ah well it's better than a Kerry for President sign. Now that's truly ugly."Tell me about it. One guy on my street has a big "Bush Lied-People Died" sign right next to his "Kerry-Edwards" and "Jim Moran" signs. He even puts spot-lighting on them at night. He flies one of those silly artsy-fartsy flags with puffy clouds and sunflowers instead of the Stars and Stripes.

"I would NEVER live in an area with a 'neighborhood association'." You got that right! When you buy property, you OWN it, which means you can do with it as you see fit, in my opinion. Granted, there may need to be some reasonable restrictions in certain areas, but those things should be simple and laid out for the buyer well in advance and not subject to renegotiation. The operative word is "reasonable."

That stone sign is the same as a Kerry sign. Both people are not telling the truth!
To: sausageseller
Is there any local effort to get out the word about this guy and his anti-gun show activities? Maybe flyers could be distributed at local gun shows with the staight poop on this guy.
To: Godebert
He appears on TV and radio stations when the Annual 1500 Gun show is held at the fairgrounds. There may be legal problems for those who would oppose him. He does have deep pockets.
Seeing how many of his guns end up in criminal hands he caters to a different segment of society.

Godebert:
So the American flag and the American Eagle are "political" messages?

By their very nature, they're as much
of a political statement as someone painting "Death To America" on a rock in their front yard.
And I'm still waiting for you to come up with any evidence to back up your libelous claim that I am oppposed to the 2nd Amendment.

Don't worry....I'll find the thread, though the argument could be made that this thread is evidence enough.

If memory serves, - on the thread in question, - Modernman was backing up 'robertpausen' in the weird idea that the State of CA has the Constitutional power to prohibit "assault weapons".
It was at least a few months ago, earlier this year. -- But as you say, a quote defending our RKBA's is hardly comparable to "Death to America".

I happen to agree with his message but it's ugly sort of *LOL* That has been my point throughout this whole thread.

Sigh. I bet you think I want to stop this guy from keeping this in his yard, don't you?

i like rocks. some are very decorative... an eight foot rock may be very beautiful...
no one will probably steal it ... and an argument can be made that it is not permanent... thousands of years of rain and wind will eventually break it up...
lighten up and if it hurts your eyes so what... it is his property and he is not your subject... covenants or not... judgement or not... only a crane will deliver this guy's edict...
