Sorry meant to say Detroit News....
Kerry will thought the 'Buckeye' state was in the bag.
Thanks for the news. It's another Mary Cheney moment brought to you by the dumbness donkeys on the planet.
Is there any way we can get Tarayzuh to call swing state voters and insult them personally?
That should have been the "dumbest donkeys". Where's my coffee?
Wha...?
LOL.... Looks like she and Lizard are already doing a good job of that in the news...
The poll was conducted on Monday and Tuesday, so we haven't seen the fallout from that stupid comment just yet.
KEWL!!!!
More from an AP story:
DETROIT (AP) -- A new poll of likely Michigan voters published Thursday showed 47 percent supporting President Bush and 43 percent backing U.S. Sen. John Kerry.
The telephone poll of 400 people conducted Monday and Tuesday for The Detroit News by Mitchell Research & Communications Inc. of East Lansing found 1 percent supporting independent Ralph Nader, 2 percent backing other candidates and 7 percent unsure or refusing to say.
The 4 percentage point difference between the support for Bush and Kerry is within the poll's 5-point margin of sampling error.
An Oct. 11-13 poll of 600 likely Michigan voters found 48 percent backing Democrat Kerry and 43 percent backing Republican Bush. The poll, conducted for The South Bend (Ind.) Tribune and WSBT-TV, had a 4 percentage point margin of error.
West Michigan is being bombarded by Bush/Cheney ads and visits.
Channel 8 out of Grand Rapids said Bush's spending is up 118 % over 00 campaign ad expenditures in West Michigan.
This is fantastic news. I especially like it because the snarky NYTimes has a piece today about how Kerry is leading in Michigan:"Kerry in the Lead,But Almost by Default"
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/21/politics/campaign/21michigan.html
However, in the piece there is an ominous quote.
"If Kerry ends up winning this state, said Bill Ballenger, editor of Inside Michigan Politics, a widely read newsletter, "he'll do it without working very hard for it or, in a sense, deserving it."
I think the voters are taking her comments personally.
7 percent unsure or refusing to say.
Are the state polls starting to catch up to the nationals?
Sounds like it. Note the Gallop poll showing Bush up by 6 in Wis. Up by 10 in Nevada, I believe that's Mason-Dixon, etc.
This comes just after the Kerry endorsement by former Republican Governor Milliken that made the papers a day or so ago. ("Former" applies to both adjectives, IMO.) The papers identified him as a "moderate", so we all know what anyone who is described as a "moderate Republican" by the MSM really is.
Large margin of error, and only a 400 voter sample on this poll, so be cautious to see if this a trend that appears in other polls of Michigan.
I live in Michigan, and there are LOTS of Kerry/Edwards signs around. From what I can see, it's teachers and the UAW. Got many in my neighborhood, and it pains me to drive my them.
As Elaine on Seinfeld would say, "GET OUT!!" Can this be real?? Are we sure they didn't manipulate this poll to show a Kerry surge next week? If this is for real then it is astonshing news. I thought the Bush folks had written off MI. If he can win it, or if it is even competitive, then I will say Kerry just might be going down.
Wow! Is this the October surprise!?!?!? :-)
