EAU CLAIRE, WI – Today, The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, the state’s largest farm organization, announced its endorsement of George W. Bush for President. Today’s endorsement marks the first-ever presidential endorsement in the Farm Bureau’s eighty-four year history. 48,190 member families belong to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau.

“We are endorsing President Bush because Wisconsin farm families have benefited from his leadership. His support of initiatives in the state has helped agriculture grow to be a $51 billion part of Wisconsin’s economy,” said Bill Bruins, president of the Farm Bureau, and a dairy producer from Waupun.

“President Bush’s leadership on farm programs, animal identification, conservation programs, tax relief, renewal energy, and market development best complements the agricultural initiatives being pursued in Wisconsin.”

“We believe President Bush is the best choice for Wisconsin farm families to expand market opportunities, hold the line on taxes, and provide sensible leadership on environmental rules. We recognize the importance of having a President with initiatives that are the most favorable and consistent with the economic development efforts being undertaken by agricultural leaders in the state,” said Bruins.

The good news, the Badger State is going for President Bush in November! And more good news, our neighbors to the west, Minnesota, will follow us.

And if the Detroit News can be believed (they've been alone in predicting this), our friends across the pond (Michigan) will also join us.

Bush could make a clean sweep of the Rocky's, Midwest, and South.

Leaving only a couple sore blue thumbs on the Pacific coast, Illinois, and New England.

Why do so many Freepers type "hugh" instead of "huge"? Am I missing an inside joke? If so, what is the meaning?

The Fair Tax Act and the President's agenda for tax reform is paying dividends in the agricultural midwest. HOOO-AAAH!

“We believe President Bush is the best choice for Wisconsin farm families to expand market opportunities, hold the line on taxes, and provide sensible leadership on environmental rules."

Well, when Ketchup Boy would reinstitute the Compacts, completely isolate America with regard to trade, massively increase taxes, and be in the hip pocket of PETA and the Sierra Club, it's not hard to make that kind of choice.

From the Fifth Edition of the Lexicon of FreeRepublic:

Hugh -adj (Pron: HYOO) 1. Describes something large.

It (and a few others that you've probably already encountered) are infamous typos, mostly from "live" threads.

The last newsletter I received from Michigan Farm Bureau endorsed a variety of candidates--virtually all of them Republicans--but they have not yet endorsed Bush, as far as I am aware.

I wish they would!
