John Kerry has tightened up his rhetoric on the campaign trail, but he's still sometimes too longwinded on the stump - even for some of his biggest fans.
Tuesday night, for instance, when he arrived in Waterloo, Iowa - Kerry kicked off a rally at the airport with a bang. But as he continued to drone on his audience grew so bored one of them actually almost passed out.
After launching into an attack on Bush, saying it was time to give him his "two-weeks-notice," Kerry almost immediately began to lose focus.
CBS News.com describes what happened next:
"Shortly thereafter, Kerry wound up drifting, even after promising 16 minutes into the event that he would wrap up his remarks as an audience member became woozy.
"While the man was being tended to, Kerry told the crowd he was going to 'wind up ... because I dont want to keep everybody late.'
"It eventually took him over six minutes of winding to finally 'wind up,' though several audience members wound up walking out, choosing not to wait for the end."

We really need transcripts of these shaggy dog tales
(and not the official ones on his site).
Redundant!
I swear, Teresa looks like an alcoholic.
Oh, gnarly. I just discovered that it is possible to laugh so hard that you nearly puke.
LOL
He had bad plan there. lol
There. Fixed it.
His model for oratory seems to be Fidel!
You should see what happened at a John F*ckin' campaign even in Minnesota. The crowds stampeded out even BEFORE he had finished speaking! It looks like Kerry's base is not exactly enthralled with him. Contrast it to the reception Bush gets everywhere he goes. I don't need a poll to tell me who has the upper hand in this election.
did you notice in your photo....under the WAR in edwards..
look...you can see where it says..LIE
I can't type when I'm laughing.
I gotta feel a little here for Teresa. If I had to follow Lurch around and listen to his droning endless boring crap, day after day after endless day, I'd have a keg on over my shoulder and a whiskey IV.
"This? This is for (hic) medicinal purposes only!
I couldn't (hic) find any white raisins for
my gin and...(hic)...oh SHOVE IT!"
It is simply a (seemingly) endless collection of Kerry soundbites droning on about God-knows-what.
I have never heard it all the way through... I am usually quickly snoring in a coma.
You're right - I'll concede Kerry's a good debater but there's no contesting he can't connect with people on the campaign trail.
Seriously, if you are John Kerry what else can you do? He has no accomplishments, plans or vision. His whole life has been about talking. That's ALL he knows how to do. And he doen't do that very well from a substance point of view.
