"O’Donnell’s high-handed behavior, and this NBC-co-owned network’s refusal to fire him, has damaged the credibility of news channel MSNBC and of NBC as a whole. "

Tell us about it! This has been the story for years.

I heard Pat Buchanan read O'Donnell's "apology" to the viewers, but there was no apology to John O'Neil.

No wonder he likes Kerry--he's got a thin resume, too.

"...the borderline of madness."

It seems that derangement of some sort is almost mandatory for people of this ilk, the current Demoratic candidate being a prime case in point. O'Donnell exhibits megalomania. Kerry exhibits well funded and groomed megalomania. With the way Kerry demonstrates his sporting abilities, he's liable to throw the "football" to Koffi Annan. At least we'll have the consolation of knowing that we were roasted under the UN banner.

Really, baby blue hats on our warriors?!?

It appears that Lawrence O'Donnell came very close to being canned. Rick Kaplan, President of MSNBC couldn't do it although its obvious this is what should have been done to a 'Senior Political Analyst' after that kind of perforamnce.

I watched this interview and O'Donnell was definintely off his meds. He was so afraid that John O'Neill's voice would be heard, that he continuously shouted over him, all but screaming that O'Neil was a liar. It was really pathethic.

In a prior Scarboro show, when discussing President Bush's religious beliefs, O'Donnell denigrated all Christians by calling them simple-minded.

If someone has the email address of MSNBC, I would very much like to voice my opinion -- they might not read it, but at least emails can't be shouted down. My message will be that as long as O'Donnell remains in their employ, then I will no longer watch anything on MSNBC.

I thought the moderator had the ability to cut the mike off whenever a situation like this happened.

Hasn't Pat Buchanan had enough experience to have done this? I really hate that John O'Neil did not get to be heard because of all the abuse from the partisan hack.

Rick Kaplan.[ supporter and friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton,] Sheesh! No wonder the raving lunatic didnt get fired! These guys all protect each others rears. Anybody else would have been canned in two seconds flat. This now is all adding up and I for one am more disgusted than ever. My satisfaction will be when W gets elected for four more years and PMSNBC goes off the air forever!

“It’s not our job to lie about war to make troops feel good. And I don’t care what they feel…. If John Kerry thinks this war is a mistake and if the United States of America elects him president, the troops are going to have to live with that….” said O’Donnell. “I don’t care if they’re demoralized.”

Its our job to make sure that Kerry never gets the chance to demoralize our troops again

O'Donnell should be fired. Buchanan apologized for him (and said O'Donnell agreed), but O'Donnell should have gone on the air and issued the apology directly to O'Neill and the viewers. What this tells me is that he really doesn't care - he should be fired, and Scarborough Country has lost credibility (Joe should know better that to protect O'Donnell).
