Personally, I refuse to believe that the majority of this country are complete TWITS who would elect John Kerry. In my world, the majority of Americans are reasonable people who can see the difference between honesty and nuance and are motivated to vote! If I'm wrong, God help me on November 3rd.

I certainly hope you are right. I happen to live in the middle of a John Kerry sespool!! I, for the life of me cannot understand, intelligent Americans who are so indifferent to the security of our land. I have given myself to prayer and fasting until the election is over. Our only hope is GOD, and I AM NOT AFRAID to SAY IT, or TYPE it!! ( SO THERE, ACLU!!!!!!)

The part of the equation you have not considered is about 30% of America is illiterate and most of them will vote Democrat and I believe that is a fact.
Our elections are contest, our side against their side and for Kerry to be in the position he is in tells a lot more than people realize.
America has serious problems even if Kerry is not elected. The Democrats have been taken over by liberals and they have demonetized George Bush from day one with the help of the so called "Mainstream Media".They have fought him on every issue and the fear I have is that Conservatives and Moderates in both parties do not have the Intestinal Fortitude to stand up to the vile scoundrels and I think the point to prove this is the Congressional Republicans have not fought that hard for Bushs Judicial Nominees and those in the other party would not take a stand either.
Either there are those in the Democrat Party who claim to be moderate or Conservative that do not have back bones or they are lying to their constituents back home. That is reason enough to vote against Democrats to start with they claim they are of a new type or they are conservative or moderate and when it is time to vote they stand with the liberals. I have never in my life seen more evil emitted from the eyes of people than what comes from Daschle,Pelosi,Kennedy,Leahy,Byrd,Dodd and the evil Terry McCauliffe and there are minions in their party marching in lockstep to their drums and America is in for perilous times if we are not careful.

"None of us believed Clinton would get re-elected, either...but it happened."

No, 10 million of us (Americans) were so fat and happy with the economy of the 90's that we didn't bother to get our butts out and vote in 1996! That's how many fewer votes were cast in 1996 than were cast in 1992. For all the scandals that Clinton put Americans through, and in spite of the fact that Bob Dole is a pretty good guy, the base just wasn't motivated.

Americans had gotten to the point where they thought the office of the President didn't really matter. People were jaded and probably desensitized by all the scandals the Clintons drug us through.

This time though...if there's one good thing you can say about terrorism: great motivator! Republicans are fired up and fighting to vote!

I read on a blog yesterday where a newly registered voter had decided to vote for Kerry based on (are you ready for this?) his position on funding for the arts (no, really!) The point is democrats are still focused on their "kitchen table issues" (What they mean when they say this is "it's all about ME! ME! ME!") Democrats are worried about global warming, free school lunches and museum looting. Republicans are worried about the future of the country and whether or not their kids have to live with the threat of terror when they go to school or the mall.

The contrast between these two issues (funding for the arts and terrorism)is exactly why those missing 10 million people will vote in this election.

And personally, because I believe George W. Bush has behaved honorably and led well, I think he's restored everyone's respect for the office of the president. We're not going to let John Kerry and Teresa Heinz muddy all of that back up again!

Maybe you don't think treason is a big deal, but I do. I think a lot of people agree with me. Or maybe you just don't think what kerry did (aiding abetting the enemy during time of war) is treason, but I do. I think a lot of people agree with me. I don't think we should shut up about it. It's true, and it's a very big deal.
