RALEIGH, N.C. -- A camera battery caught part of vice-presidential candidate John Edwards' plane on fire shortly after takeoff at 10 p.m. Friday.

The battery, in a still photographer's camera, caught part of a seat on the plane on fire.
The plane then circled around and as a security precaution landed back at RDU International Airport. Crews repaired the problem and the plane took off again around 11:30 p.m. No one was hurt in the incident.
The plane was en route to Marietta, Ohio, after Edwards spent Friday evening in Raleigh at a rally that included a Jon Bon Jovi concert.
The visit to Raleigh was Edwards' last campaign stop in his home state before Tuesday's election.

Instead of "Liar liar pants on fire", it was "Liar liar plane on fire."
Sluggish Dem candidates seem to have a real problem with planes as election day approaches.
[Wonder who o who would step in, to save the Party, to save American, to save the world and universe, if something did happen to Edwards and Kerry's poll numbers were a tad higher, and she would bypass all the tough campaign questions about her background?]
