Lawmaker Threatens Political Lawsuit

Oct 29, 2004 11:38 pm US/Eastern PHILADELPHIA (KYW) An area lawmaker has threatened to file a lawsuit that could affect who gets to vote.

CBS 3’s Valerie Levesque reports Congressman Curt Weldon will file a federal lawsuit in regards to allegations of voter fraud at the Curran-Fromhold Prison in Northeast Philadelphia.

He claims that college students have been handing out and collecting absentee ballots at the facility for weeks.

In Pennsylvania, state law makes it illegal for a third party to distribute or collect the ballots. Weldon apparently caught the students with a ballot in their hands when they were leaving the prison.

Levesque reports that only CBS 3 was there as the Congressman confronted the students and the Commissioner of the prison.

Weldon told Levesque that he believes the move was politically motivated in order to sway votes.

An investigation into the alleged incident is underway.

This has got to stop. I guess the theory is that if you cannot win the election legally then why not steal it.

Curt Weldon does not just claim that this happened there is video of the people leaving theand they have one of the actual ballots.

You can view the video at this link: http://kyw.dayport.com/launcher/11281/?tf=video_player.tpl

They cannot be allowed to steal the election in PA or in any other state. If you live in PA (or anywhere else) call the government officials in PA to help put a stop to this. Let's have this election happen legally and then the best man will win.

The more I read about this the more I think that Rendell must be trying real hard to let all his boyhood friends get the chance to vote.

Especially when the governor's wife is a liberal judge.

I have e-mailed Governor Rendell and faxed him a letter of protest about this. And I live in California -- totally unacceptable!

Dom Giordano over at The Big Talker devoted his entire show to this today.

We need to get this on Drudge!

You hear of these kinds of stunts on more than a daily basis, and yet, the "senator" who wants to hold the most prized office in the world, has not said one word of condemnation. I wonder why.

There's so much crap going on with elections, this one and past elections. If election fraud and violation of election codes is not a felony then it should be and some folks have to be given some time to put a dent in this stuff.

When the Governor supports and perpetrates fraud, its hard to fight it in a court full of liberal judges.

FRAUD is just the beginning. This action is clearly in violation of Pa. State Law. Convicted Felons are NOT permitted to vote in Pa. according to Pa. State Law. According to Dom DiGeordano Fast Eddie sent out an eight page memo to the prison wardens enlisting their support in getting the convicted felons to cast absentee ballots (Vote). Mr. Rendell is a partisan, political hack and clearly his actions are NOT in the best interest of Pennsylvania. This may be an IMPEACHABLE offense.
Since Mr. Rendell is a slick lawyer he must know that his actions are contrary to Pa. State Law. (Ignorance of the law is no excuse)
Remember just recently when he tried to disallow our valued MILITARY absentee votes. He obviously favors Convicts over our Soldiers. The man and his actions in this campaign are truly despicable.
