Stop with the doom and gloom this is Bush in a landslide. The evangelicals will vote in droves driven to the polls by faith. Believe it. All early voters are mostly Democrats becasue they have been herded and Kerry is still not making much headway in ealy votes. You can only vote once and We will all be voting for George W. Bush Tomorrow so don't get discouraged. Get active.

I am so glad he'll be off the radio here in Pittsburgh soon... his show is definately the worst syndicated one in town

Interesting. His ratings on tape delay in Pittsburgh are actually beating Rush Limbaugh who is on live opposite Neal's show. I couldn't disagree more with you about his radio show. It's by far the most entertaining, and he goes out of his way looking for callers who disagree with him. Unlike Limbaugh, who's sanitized, nobody but dittoheads get through, bore of a radio show takes no such challenges. You may disagree with Boortz's philosohpy, but his show is riot to listen to. I get drowsy when Limbaugh comes on.

It ain't even gonna be close.

Think Reagan/Carter 1980.

I would rather think Reagan/Mondale 1984. ;0)

What I wrote was : I live in SC and work in and around the nuclear industry so I lead a politically sheltered life and not many of my contact or friends would vote for Kerry, or any Democrat for that matter. All we can do at this point is vote.

What didn't you understand about that? I don't understand your post.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I have lost count of how many calls from liberals Rush has taken.

Rush has an air of defeatism about him today as well. He'll deny it, but it's obvious. All we can do is vote and try to convince others on our side to as well.

Exactly....5% or less on either side is impacted by who is elected President... I see not a whole lot happening either way...
Entertainment value will be there no matter who wins...

Boortz has the same problem than I had in 2000, he has never before voted for someone who actually won the presidency.

Frankly, I don't care much for Limbaugh myself, but Boortz is gone, and that's all that matters to me.

It's the turnout, stupid! :-)

I suspect most of the polls are based upon 2000 turnout models - and it's very clear that in that election, the GOP did not do a very good job of getting its evangelical Christian base motivated to get out there and vote.

I suspect September 11, 2001 changed all of that. I believe this core GOP base sees the election as beyond even a referendum on terrorism, as a clear fundamental choice about Good vs Evil. I'm not saying they all they view Kerry as "evil"; Kerry, in fact, is irrelevant to their decision. But they certainly believe that for all of his shortcomings and policy blunders, George W. Bush is fighting on the side of Good, and his defeat would be a victory for Evil.

I expect they will turn out in massive numbers, well below the radar scope of the pollsters and the MSM. Indeed, while they pray devoutly today for their Commander-in Chief, they do so in the knowledge that tomorrow, God will help those who help themselves.

Simply put, it's them vs the Eminem/MTV vote. It can sometimes be very inconvenient to vote on Election Day in our society; even with the best of intentions, a busy day slips away and would-be voters rationalize why they couldn't make it to the polls.

I'd bet that the GOP base will show up this time.

You've got to be kidding. I want dates and times, man. I listen to Rush, and there's nothing but dittoheads or callers who claim to be liberal but "support the President" this time around. Believe me, nobody screens their show more heavily than Rush, and his stated objective is to make sure "he looks good". You don't achieve that by presenting someone who can actually challenge him.

Ever notice how Rush is never on the 'talking head' shows? He never shows up to debate anyone, even on the FOX network who leans in his favor. Today, he said he turned down appearance on MSNBC who offered him all the time he wanted. Clearly, Rush avoids at all costs those with whom he disagrees and will sit at home rather than line up against anyone who can pop him squarely in the mouth. He'd much prefer to sit behind the golden microphone and respond to soundbites after having 18 hours to prepare.

People who want debate and fireworks shouldn't tune into the Rush Limbaugh show. It's a three-hour position statement and nothing else.

Well, that is a sword that cuts two ways. Given the trends, it may be Carter/Reagan 1980, but not in the way you think.

You know what's really got me worried? So many here on FR are predicting a Bush landslide. Just like they predicted that Bush would "wipe the floor" with Kerry in the debates. Well, we see what happened there. Please, FReepers, be realistic. There's too much evidence out there that shows how tight this race will be. But that's all behind us now. Nothing to do but cast our ballots, and hope and pray that the good guys somehow come through.
