striving to come to terms with the mandate Bush received this week from the American public. Thus Chirac downplayed his old claims that Europe could offer an alternative pole to U.S. power and called instead for “a tight transatlantic partnership.” Karsten Voigt, a close advisor to German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, talked about the need for Bush and Europe to pull closer together “in rhetoric, in gestures, but also in substance.”

Jacques and Gerhardt made a huge misjudgement in dismissing and underestimating W. It seems they might be finally realizing that the joke is on them, not the US.

I say screw them both, and that the US should actively work to unseat them, as they did to W. They've proved that they are not honest partners of the US and world. Too late boys, you have proven yourselves enemies of the US and friends to tyrants.

Then their successors can start with a clean slate and earn America's respect by taking action against world terrorism.

This is great. One electoral victory and the French are capitulating already.

They're weak but they're predictable.

This is where Ketchup Boy learned how to flip-flop.

Did you catch the article to the right with the headline:

Long Night's Journey Into Day • After the wee hours: A too-close-to-call race becomes a narrow victory for the President

Narrow? The spin never stops.

Congratulations from Jock Chiraq are as sincere as the congratulations the beauty-contest winner gets from her fellow-contestants.

It seems that Gerhard and Jacque both believed the MSM nonesense about President Bush being "selected" and not elected. They thought this meant they could insult him and us and get away with it. They thought the American people actually agreed with them.

That'll teach them to believe the liberal media.

Chirac is the quintessence of the age-old Frankish intransigence and arrogance. He sees himself as heir to the "splendors" of Louis XIV et al. In fact, he is heir to the hubris of Louis XIV AND Louis XVI, and, if he gets his way, he'll lead France down the same path they lead it down!
