The Libs New Excuse: Electronic Voting Machines

Posted on 11/06/2004 10:43:46 AM PST by GOPGrrl

Just came from a non-political website that took a turn toward liberal whining about the election.

Apparently, Ralph Nader is or is rumored to be requesting a recount in New Hampshire because of inaccuracies of electronic voting machines like Diebold. Can anyone confirm this?

Either way, it had these Democrats up in arms and speculating about similar challenges in Ohio and Florida (through other avenues as Nader could not obviously make such a request in Ohio).

So, now it's electronic voting machines that favor Bush instead of punch cards ballots that disenfranchise Democratic voters.

Does it ever end?

I am sure that the machines that counted the votes FOR Kerry worked just fine.

Next we'll hear they want to force all who voted for the President to undergo a mental exam (performed of course by a left wing nut case) to prove we are all mentally incompetent, thus invalidating our votes.

"Does it ever end?"

Let's hope not. Every day the left spends in fantasy land is one more day they aren't getting organized, one more day they don't understand what happened and one more day they are doing nothing constructive.

Enjoy it.

The more they keep blaming everything other than themselves the more they will continue to falter. If they keep it up, they may have over 60 seats in the Senate against them during midterm.

I don't know whether it's true Nader is asking for a recount or not, but it sure did get everyone in a tizzy about doing the same thing other places where Kerry lost.

We can thank Gore for the manta: Shouldn't every vote be counted?

I don't think they'll be happy until we're back to penciling in check marks to be counted by Democratic poll workers.

The woman who runs this site if the Diva of the anti-electronic voting nuts.

She's running a Top Secret Operation right now, has apparently sent FOIA's for audit logs to 3,000 precincts using electronic voting. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone.

You don't understand. According to the fringe leftist "mind" this voting machines are programed to help Republicans.

The "logic" works like this. Diebold is located in TEXAS. It is obvious that this is all part of the master plan by Rove to steal this and all other elections, until it is safe to institute marshall law. If you think I am kidding stop by DU.

First, Florida's touch screen voting machines do not have a paper trail. Suits were filed to remove the machines, but were defeated. The votes in the machines are what they are. I can't speak to Ohio, but it is my understanding, that a major number of the voting machines were punch card. The kind that Florida had, but the difference between Ohio and Florida is that Ohio has an absolute recount procedure, whereas, Florida in 2000 each county or precinct had their own procedure, so there was no uniformity. One of the reasons, if I recall correcty, the U.S. Supreme Court eventually decided in the favor of the Florida Secretary of State, was because the different counties could not agree on what constituted a vote and wanted to recount only the ballots in three counties. I think it should also be mentioned, and is probably known by nearly everyone, save the Democrats, that no less than 10 organizations, including ABC, CBS, NYT, USA Today, etc., did an independent recount after the election and all showed President Bush the winner in Florida. No stolen election.

Yeah, old news. It was discussed yesterday on this forum. Ralph submitted the paperwork, but forgot to pay the $40,000 cost to cover the recount. The deadline has passed. NH officials are to issue a ruling on Monday as to whether they will do the recount. There is a lunatic fringe of the Dem party who believe this will overturn the results of the election because recounts will then take place in Ohio and Florida. They are convinced that the exit polling was correct and the machines were rigged.

I got news for them. The exit polling was way off. They had Kerry winning SC. I live in SC. There is no way in hell Kerry had a chance in SC. He spent no money here. He was told by the state Dem party to stay as far away from their candidate for Senate as he possibly could. A lib from Mass will never come within 15 points of winning this state. Kerry lost by 17. Do the libs think the exit polls were right here in SC?

Denial - All part of the grieving process.

Did anybody listen to Michael Medved yesterday?

I only caught a few minutes of it while I took a break from pruning my grape vines.

Some guy who claimed to be non partisan and who was a foe of President Clinton, was claiming that Kerry actually won the Ohio vote due to the provisional ballots.

He was making the point that the vast number of provisional ballots went to blacks and the locations of the precincts proves it, that blacks were systematically disenfranchised.

Medved brought up all the fraudulent registrations more than once and this guy kept saying "if they try to vote arrest them".

My first thought was nut case, sore looser.

I went back to my pruning and was mulling over what a crank this guy was.

It hit me out of the blue what the deal was with this guy. He was nonpartisan because he is a flaming Marxist.

Kerry set the stage by pounding the disenfranchisement theme for the last 6 weeks. The stage was set. Edwards dropped the hint about riots in the street.

There was story , after story about the blatantly fraudulent registrations. That is nothing new for democrats .

They planned to either steal the vote, the preferred method or shut down the election in someplace like Cincinnati ( a town that is already primed for riots )by busing in a bunch of these fraudulent voters.

The press , Palestinian style would have been notified in advance, and they would have showed the cops going in and a score of black voters being hauled away.

The press with their liberal agenda , and fraudulent reporting wouldn't have even tried to get it right.

The story would have been voter intimidation with pictures to prove it and a major US city would be in riot.

I think I'll take my foil hat off now.

As if voting irregularities worked in one direction only. The DEMS are currently floating in that great river in Egypt. In any event ACT and ACORN, George Soros best efforts at stealing the election had little effect it was a great get out the vote effort and the only thing I am curious about is how many of those voters that were got out to vote actually voted for George W. Bush... by the end result probably Thousands of Democrats in the privacy of the polling booth voted for GW. The Popular vote is a mandate there is no question about it. It wasn't even close. The will of the American people was determined in the Popular vote are they going to cry foul on 4 million votes? John Kerry was a failure and luckily WE the People woke up to the facts before it was too late.
