I thought Roves analyis was correct
The issues:
1. War
2. Economy
3. Vaues
In that order ...also Safire said the Kerry campaign was good ...(It brought out a lot of voters)
The Bush campaign was better

I would agree with Rove with certain reservations. The number one issue was security just like in 2002. That might or might not have been enough to get W the win.
The issue that got him the win was values. The Evangelicals, conservative Christians and orthodox Jews came out and voted for Bush by large majorities. Rove may ignore this fact at the expense of the republican party but I doubt it. They know where the 9 million additional votes came from.

From all indications, their "Turn out the vote" effort did get voters to the polls....they just weren't supporters of Kerry.

The issue was Kerry. I have talked to a lot of strict democrats that said they just could not bring themselves to vote for sKerry.
