Today's developments in the Belling Held Hostage saga include:
1. A website has been established. Please go to http://freebelling.com/ and do all you can to help in the Free Belling effort.
2. WISN has established a telephone number,(414) 944-5456, to field calls about this issue. The recorded message says that Mark is "taking a break from the airwaves." It says that WISN is trying to "educate the public about ethnic diversity." Callers can leave a message.
If WISN is trying to educate the public about ethnic diversity, have they set up some educational seminars? Run any public service spots on ethnic diversity? Again, they should be called on this.
Isn't this the guy who subbed for Rush a while back?
Snail Mail address?
One and the same. A great voice for conservative values in this market.
Yes, that's the guy. He has a very popular afternoon talk show in Milwaukee. A couple weeks ago, the used the term "wetback" to describe illegal alien voters.
Left wingers are now trying to silence him. His show has been taken off the air for the time being, with no announcement as to when it will return.
For further info, see http://www.freebelling.com
Belling has no one to blame but himself....it seems to me a temporary suspension is about right!!!!

Welcome to Free Republic.
So you would agree that Belling should not be fired?
Liberal media/airwave hosts say worse stuff than what Belling said all the time.
He will find a place in the free market. If the idiots he works (worked) for are leftists, so be it.
A raise, a bonus and a promotion would be about right....
I dunno how to spell her name either.
*snort*
Pretty much.
But I did notice how the leftists can rant foaming at the mouth wide-eyed and say anything and no-one will call them on it.
Thank s, folks. I guess the Smear Machine rolls merrily on.
I'm learning all about those hidden clauses in the 1st Amendment (free speech/assembly for some)....
Belling has a pretty acidic style that can turn people off sometimes. I have been listening to him for over 10 years. I got past the style thing.
He has connections in state and local government that a new host would have to have years of work behind him to equal. Belling is able to find out things that the liberal media giants in this town will not look at. This is his most valuable asset to this market.
We need him back on the air.
I thought it would be great to have a period where I could sample Hannity's show - until I had to listen to portions of it for two days in a row.
Compared to Belling, Hannity is boring and dumb as a box of rocks.
Mark made a mistake, and compounded that mistake by not addressing it with sincerity. But I think he is the smartest person on radio in America. Rush doesn't come close (although he has the best research staff of all), Hannity misses opportunities that fly right over his head, and the others are mental midgets compared to Belling. He'll be fine regardless of how long this *suspension* continues.
If I were him, I'd consider telling WISN that he'll be fielding other offers when this contract is up, unless they show more loyalty to him. He's by far the most powerful local voice on the air right now, and as I've said, he's the smartest radio personality in America (ahead of Laura Ingraham).
I agree completely. Mark was the only personality to predict the closeness of the 2000 election that I know of.
I respect Hannity, but yep- Snoozers!
The problem with WISN is that it is owned by Clearchannel. Their priorities do not include one host in one market. They would fire him if they thought it served their overall corporate interests.
The only other option in Milwaukee is WTMJ and they aren't going to toss Jonathan Green over the side so that Belling can take over the PM drive time.
One good thing that has come out of this. Tax money is no longer going to support the radical black power activist Michael McGee's radio show.
I couldn't agree more. WISN and ClearChannel share some blame in this whole thing. The minute you give an inch to the hateful left, they demand more and more.
If WISN fired Belling, that would not be good enough for these people.
