She was running behind schedule that day, and the mostly female crowd waiting for her was restive. There is only so much multitasking that can be accomplished on a folding chair when the speaker has already run 90 minutes late, and many women were murmuring about the children they had to pick up and jobs they had to get back to. Even one of the warm-up speakers joked that they should all get a free bottle of ketchup in recompense, and some in the audience eventually gave up, explaining themselves as they headed out the door.
But anyone who was expecting Heinz Kerry to run in, hair flying, and offer the kind of extended mea culpa that most of us are a little too good at well, it never happened. Instead, when she did arrive, she was perfectly composed and offering no excuses. Me voila, my fellow Americans, now deal with it.
What the crowd got instead, however, was 45 minutes of cogent, even slightly wonky policy discussiondelivered softly, yet in terms so frank and full of feeling that it was a little jarring. (On early childhood intervention: Either we do it like a Marshall Plan or lets not pretend. If we dont do this its not worth doing very much more. Why save? Why invest? If were not doing all we can for them, why bother? Why bother with anything else?) Im only sorry we wont have the chance to get over the jolt.

Oh, just shove it.
What is this author smoking? Still, I miss THEREZA!
She is toxic!
Well, the poor dear. You must remember that, just before the election came to an end, Teh-RAY-Zah went on the South B*tch Diet. I am sure that explains the wonkiness of Her Wonkiness.

You forgot the barf alert.
Y'all really should read the whole thing. It trots out all the standard excuses for TeRAYza's behavior. We can consider this a gushing farewell mash note from the sisterhood.
Clear and concise, that's Teresa all right.
I do miss hearing from her though, just like I miss all those great Kerry the Athlete photos.
At the end, I don't think she even wanted to win. It became bothersome (per Newsweek article). She is much happier on the Riviera sucking down Martinis and gossiping about the new members of the country club.

"Don't you know who I am ?"
I'm just looking forward to hearing the name "Teresa" pronounced the right way instead of like a snotty European.
Don't you mean BOWSER?? Heehehee : )
In the TV appearances that I've seen of Theresa, she always seemed like she was on a 5-beer buzz.
This blow-hard feminazi author does *not* speak for me.
Laura Bush bland?
Melinda needs to quit smokin' that weed.
I didn't see where the article actually mentioned unfair attacks on Tereza. I don't remember them happening either.
