I'm not surprised at this. There have been rumors about it for a while. I wonder if it really will be Condi who fills this position. I think she would be awesome!

Good. Maybe now we can get someone in there to finish pushing through the president's immigration program. Powell's been really dragging his feet on this. I'll miss him though.

No surprise, figured when he took the job Bush knew Powell was only going to be in for the first term.

Colin Powell has been the Administration's loose cannon. He's a good man, but it's time for him to move on.

Cool, now get in their and force "early retirements" or "desires to spend more time with family."

Let's get someone on the equivilant of Porter Goss who will signal it's time for a big change around this place.

Yup. But when all those "people" resigned from the Clinton administration it didn't mean a thing.

You sound like an old pro at these predictions.

I wouldn't mind Rudy here, either. He's not conservative enough to be President, but I wouldn't doubt his abilities in this area.

However, he's making big bucks in the private sector now, so I dunno if he'd accept even if it were offered to him.

I think he would accept the position if it were offered to him. Yes, he's making big money right now, but he HAS big money already--it's not like he's trying to shore up his retirement account. Someone like Rudy shouldn't turn down such a high profile position if it were to be offered to him.
