A More Perfect Union Part One
CFP ^ | November 17, 2004 | Ryan Thompson

It is natural for people of common backgrounds to strive for unity. For over two hundred twenty eight years, the Anglo world has been formally divided. While our nations typically form an ad hoc coalition of the world stage, the rise of the European Union has threatened to fracture the friendship. Now to counter the threat to the alliance by the European Union, the people of the "Anglo Six" as I call them (Australia, British Isles (the United Kingdom and Ireland), Canada, New Zealand, and the United States) should form a union that protects our common beliefs and heritage that at the same time respects the sovereign status of each nation.

Economically, the "Anglo Six" are linked as being major trading partners for each other. The United States is the largest or second largest trading partner for every other member of the "Anglo Six." By erasing all tariffs and other regulations that hinder trade between our nations, the borders between our nations would disappear in the economic sense. Further, the members of the "Anglo Six" could be a net exporter of energy if they polled their resources into a unified market. By using their resources in a unified fashion, citizens of the six nations would be less likely to feel pain from uncertainty in the world energy markets. It also would allow the "Anglo Six" to cut its ties to nations who we are currently dependent on for energy resources that abuse human rights. Economic prosperity and self-reliance would reign supreme for the citizens of the "Anglo Six" if the union would exist. . . . .

I have often thought that this was a good idea
Hague (Former Tory leader in Britain) made something like this on his campaign manifesto

Good idea in principle, but New Zealand, Ireland and Canada would only use membership in such a group to try and "rein in" the other three from doing horrible things like toppling dictators or promoting freedom and western values. Better a strong coalition of three than a meaningless coalition of six.

Okay, but brace for an inundation of refugees fleeing Europe as it collapses under its own decadence and the Muslims convert it into an Islamic theocracy.

I'm not about to support any alliance with New Zealand and Canada. Those lefty socialists don't share the values of the US.

Sorry, but we already have united states, and it's enough trouble, thanks.
