There is more to life than the road-weary, ever-despairing form of Nicolette Sheridan as the lead-in to "Monday Night Football." There is the predictable shock and wailing following another joint production starring the corporate NFL and envelope-pushing Hollywood, which equates being over the top with high art. There also is the right breast of Janet Jackson, busting out on national television before posing as the seminal mome

here's a dicey comment that will probably get me flamed:
Couldn't they have used a black woman to flirt with the black football player? I am really tired of the overly promoted myth that white women are so hot to throw themselves at any black Adonis . This commercial,to me, perpetuates that fantasy.
I would bet you anything that if the commerical featured a
sexy black woman getting nude and jumping on a white athlete
we'd be hearing major ranting from the NAACP .

The insult is to black women because when a black man becomes a millionaire they often marry whiltes. Some white females find blacks attractive regardless of income but so often rich blacks in the public eye get married to whites.

My guys were very upset by the intro.

They wanted to see Terry Hatcher, not Nicolette Sheridan.

Isn't N S the daughter of Michelle Phillips of The Mamas & The Papas?

Too many years too close to the free-wheeling drungs life-style?

No longer any awareness of the life styles of the main stream Americans?

It was totally out of place and time. I turned on ABC to watch Monday Night Foorball. I think Madden and his broadcasting partner were both embarrassed by it, also.
Whoever thought that was a good idea needs to be fired and given a job like trash can garbage man. It was offensive to me.

Tony Dungy comaplained about it. He didn't like the fact that they used NFL people as opposed to ABC people. Can you imagine John Madden doing that? He also didn't like the
black man/white woman setup, especially just after the Kobe Bryant case.
