Tom Brokaw has been one of the great TV journalists, a man of intelligence, diligence and wit.

sounds like him. you beat me to the post.
Evidently the author of this article chose to lead with a bit of humor...
He also said of Reagan that on Race he was stuck in the 30's. Broke jaw thinks he is a racist.
Did you get the same vibe as I did, that in his eyes the Reagan/Bush White House was insignificant?
"Do we have enough lipstick to make our own hateful traitor look other than a pig?"
I have no problem with this article, it is the writer's opinion but the TV show tonight showed Brokaw being interviewed recently and footage of him through the years. It seemed to me he dismissed Reagan's influence in the collapse of the Berlin Wall.
Who the fuc# cares!
Reagan has his place in history. Brokejaw won't even be a blip on the radar screen in a few years. He's a generic newsreader.
I won't tune in until "Dateline "Caps" Brokaws career". And, likely not even then!
My 86 year old Mom for one. She voted for Bush, but at the same time wishing we didn't have to be in Iraq, that the economy was better, etc. Of course she's too cheap to get cable TV, so all she watches in the mainstream news. I was on the phone with her tonight and she said "Well, I need to get going, Tom Brokaw is on." I told her not to believe everything she hears!
From the staff of The Onion??
"My 86 year old Mom for one. She voted for Bush, but at the same time wishing we didn't have to be in Iraq, that the economy was better, etc."
I understand. I have a 87 year old mom much in the same boat. No cable so I spent my life in the basement playing war games on PC, and freeping away here.
God bless all our dear old moms, I mean that. My mom voted straight ticket republican the first time in her life after I have spent some ten months teaching all she hasn't known for some 80 years. It was almost funny to hear some of her comments after I gave her a really good picture of just who and want big John Kerry and little Johnny Edwards really are. At least now she understands why I call JFK a traitor to his country and to his fellow sailors. Not that many of them felt he was their buddy I am sure.
Hang in there.
Since I don't buy books from fellow traveling media whores, I don't know how closely Brokaw's book imaged Rush's chapter.
Anyone know for certain?
Just posted this on another thread.
"Didn't see the whole Brokjaw "goodbye" show, but what I did see completely ignored the Reagan Presidency. Like it never happened.
Sorry Tom, I won't be one who misses ya."
Thanks. He has no shame; otherwise, he would be embarrassed.
