Last night on his Sunday radio show, Matt Drudge told listeners that Dan Rather's resignation announcement came after the "independent" commission investigating Memogate delivered an in-progress report on the matter to the top guns at CBS:
"I was told that last Monday the preliminary report on the Rather document matter was given to management at CBS. This is before the Rather announcement, and I've got immaculate sources at CBS. So it must not be good. CBS News President Andrew Heyward is now in the bullseye. They can't let too many people go, they don't have that many left."
So far, Drudge has not posted anything about this on his site.
Hat tip: Johnny Dollar's Place.
They are ALL LEFT.......IMHO......
You know you are in trouble when Andy Rooney rejects you.
How about his executive producer? Is she gone, also? She was the legs behind this story!
Bill Clinton wanted to have a program. He would be very popular, too. A lot of people like him. The ratings would go through the roof.

I think he's holding out for the UN secretary general's job...when the Koffster is booted out.
"They can't let too many people go, they don't have that many left."
Wrong - that is a perfect case for less is better than something.
I don't think they would pick an American.
I am serious about Clinton. Whther you like him or not, he'd be good on TV and he would get great ratings.
Some friggin idiot gave Al Sharpton a TV show.
Perhaps, but CBS could never dissuade the fear that Willie might have someone underneath the Evening News anchor desk during the telecast...
I suspect he is not disciplined enough to commit to the schedule this would require.
Of course he would - but Clinton can not report to a TV assignment at his convenience. They kind of expect a personality to be there at an appointed time.
Clinton would never succeed in a forum where he could not control the discussion. He loses his temper quickly when crossed, and foams at the mouth.
Well, he would have to be on time. Let's see what happens.
He did talk about having a TV show.
They could shut down and become a FOX News affiliate
No, a "lot" of people do not like him. A small but vocal core like him, including the many sycophants in the media.
Also the ratings would not go through the roof, they would be an embarrassment like the dreadful run he already tried with Bob Dole demonstrates.
"Did someone say 'legs?' Have her interview with me!"
Bill O'Reilly
(I can smell the tar being heated and see the chickens being plucked for their feathers).
They could just shut down. Period
