There also was a garage collapse under construction somewhere else around here a few years ago...I think it was at Western Maryland University or something, but I'm not sure.

A few others as well. Clearly something flawed about the way these things are getting built, and certainly something valid for OSHA or whatever to look at and solve.

The garage collapse to which you refer, I believe, occurred in 2001 at the Fishers Landing complex in Rockville, MD. The contractor in that case was identified as the James G. Davis Company.

The general contractor for the NIH's Hatfield Clinical Center is Centex Construction of Dallas, which hardly is a minority set-aside outfit.

However, it is not yet clear whether a subcontractor was involved in the construction of the collapsed garage.

No inside info here, just a little leg work through open sources...........
