Because Blair is a leftest, a very big leftist. Look beyond his stance on foreign affairs and read half the crap he and labor are passing in England, merry ole, big brother (17 million street cameras), no rights or self defense having Britian. This isn't your papa's Churchhills England, This is a show case of the EU.

By the time the EU stops squabbling and gets down to serious business, the US will have come up with cold fusion or energy from dandelions, making EU's oil fields irrelevant. They will never achieve parity with the US in the matter of military hardware/expertise. Their only hope is to tie us down like Gulliver...to the UN. Which won't happen.

Hmm, the EU is rather protectionist and they haven't sent off nearly as much industry to China and India. Further if our dollar keeps falling we will have a hard time attracting scientists from all over and oil will become extremely expensive with sky rocketing inflation, that will grind us down. Just the breathing room the EU needs to morph the rest of the way to the Reich. Hitler was impatient. The new Reich masters aren't.

The sovereignty of Britain is threatened by the continental and socialist super-government in Brussels. The United States needs allies to help attain its national interests, including the threat of Islamic terrorists. There is a convergence of interests.

Britain needs to pull out of the European Union if that nation wishes to retain independence. What would be ideal is if Britain, the United States, and Australia formed the core of an Anglosphere free trade zone and military alliance. Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand should be offered favorable terms for entry into the free trade zone and alliance. The trade agreements and military alliance should be set up so that no supranational government could be imposed without abrogating the founding treaties. The United States, Britain, and Canada should abandon NATO. Nations that are friendly to America and Britain, such as Poland and Italy, should be weaned away from the EU. Old Asian allies like Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan should be cultivated. Ties with Turkey and Israel must not be neglected. NAFTA should be abolished, although friendly relations should be established with Latin America, except Communist Cuba and Communist leaning Venezuela. India should be cultivated as well.

Russia, the EU, and China are the three most worrisome powers in this century. In a triple alliance and combined with the the radical Muslim states, they could be an enemy bloc more powerful than the Axis or the Warsaw Pact. Setting each of these powers against the other would be very desirable. Having the EU and Russia dispute over Ukraine, the Baltics, and the Balkans would be ideal. Clinton should never have gotten the U.S. involved in ex-Yugoslavia essentially promoting German and Muslim interests. If Serbia, backed by Russia, wanted to exact revenge against the Bosnian and Albanian Muslims or against Croatia, we should stay out of their way. Likewise, if western Ukraine attempts secession, we should be neutral. Let the EU help them.

The Great Game of nations did not end with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the formal dissolution of the USSR.

Poland is no friend to us, they are in full kiss arse mode to the Franco-Germanic-Spanish West. Do a google search Poland EU and see the EU page of Poland in the EU. Very interesting articles. Poland, coincidentally is pulling its troops and support out of Iraq.

All the more reason we need to cultivate Poland. This country has no love for either Germany or Russia, both of which have been its mortal enemies since the 18th Century. Millions of Poles have died or forced into exile because of the perfidy of Hans and Ivan. OTOH, Britain provided no help to the embattled Poles in 1939, and the U.S. essentially ceded Poland to the Communist yoke at Yalta. The English speaking nations owe a debt to the Poles for their past failure to honor the independence of that nation. Ideally, Poland, the Baltic states, and maybe Sweden and Finland could form a Baltic Sea trade and military alliance, independent of both the EU and Russia.

Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers gather together
against the LORD
and against his Anointed One.
"Let us break their chains," they say,
"and throw off their fetters."

The One enthroned in heaven laughs,
the LORD scoffs at them.

Psalms 2:1-3

"How exaggerated is this?"

Put it this way, it's on davidIcke.net

David Icke used to be a professional soccer player. He then became a TV presenter before going mad, stating on TV that he was "The Son of God" and a load of balls about tidal waves and earthquakes that were going to destroy Britain and, if I remember correctly, some other carp about flying saucers.

More here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Icke

Take the article with an extra large pinch of salt.

You are underestimating the Russians, and their love of their country. Some guys called Adolf and Bonaparte also did that.

I hope so, but I'm afraid it might not be enough this time. The new Reich is 600km closer to Moscow or will be soon.

Yeah, right. With 70K US combat personnel
scheduled to reamin in Germany at least thru
2008 or 2009. Then it is estimated to
remain at at least 30-40K.

Get a grip.

Get your mentality out of the Cold War era!!
I love it!!! bwahahahahahahahahaha

Yaaa, and the Japanese are gearing up to invade
Asia too! Only one problem: Their daddy (US of A)
says NO and backs that up w/ the mere presence
of nearly 100K combat personnel. US of A is
Germany's daddy too (70K personnel).

And the last time I checked, war outcome was
increasingly being determined by air power and
technological innovation. Panzers vs Warthogs!
Who wins? Cruise missiles vs the Parliament house
in Berlin or Bonn or where ever the hell it is
these days. Who wins?

Crunch all you want! We'll make more!

What exactly could 50K troops do in the heart of the EU, cut off from supplies and a shore? This is a Berlin Brigade on a larger scale with an even more hopeless situation.

It's true, we have all their scientists. But they still have their shops. There is probably a Saxon shop in your neighborhood. They will sell you merchandise and beer and take your money, that's the plan. Insidious, isn't it.
