Interesting post. Im looking into the DSP specific Virtex platform for some applications.

This is why FPGA technology is taking a big chunk out of the custom ASIC market. Xilinxs software tools have advanced to the point that you can lay out and simulate an architecture using high level functional blocks, as in MATLAB SYSGEN.

The inefficiency of the one size fits all approach of the Intel Pentium processor is apparent for numerically intensive processing.

Xilinx and IBM are developing this in collusion with a communist Chinese company. The first victims will be no doubt be Chinese Christians and Uighers, then the US and the world.
