TORONTO -- A kinder, gentler Carolyn Parrish appeared on CNN as the US president visited Ottawa.
The outspoken MP, who was turfed from the Liberal caucus two weeks ago, has attracted attention for her anti-American comments. But she softened her stance yesterday during an interview with news anchor Wolf Blitzer.
When asked if she thought George W. Bush was an idiot, Parrish told Blitzer "the coalition of idiots I was referring to, I think, were mostly the politicians in my own government."
She said "how could he rise to the top job in the country by being an idiot?"
But Parrish also seemed grateful that Bush won't be in office forever. She said "as good neighbours, we will wait patiently for another four years."
But she did cross swords with the U.S. network's political commentator, Tucker Carlson.
"I think if Canada were responsible for its own security -- you would be invaded by Norway if it weren't for the United States," said Carlson.
"We're a very secure nation because we haven't ticked off the rest of the world. We march with the world. We're not out of step," replied Parrish.

Hoping that the predator will eat them last...
Sounds like a little kid peeping out between her mommy's (the US) knees.
She's twice the man as Tuckerette. I'll trust an outspoken hard core liberal rather than a bow-tied, metrosexual, pseudo-conservative wimp like Tuckerette.
No need to read any further.......that says it all. No PRINCIPLES!!!
If it weren't for her foul and ill-informed statements this woman would not be appearing on CNN. In fact, if she were a fan of the President's she'd be unknown.
The march of conformity that is.
Canada hasn't been attacked because they have nothing anyone would care about.
I don't think Tucker Carlson was very effective on this. He should have called Parrish on all her over the top statement, not just say that "Canada needs us more than we need Canada", which may be true, but sounds arrogant and just gives fuel to the fire.
I watched that segment between Carlson and Parrish and was not at all pleased with Carlson. He essentially allowed the mad cow to crap all over him, IMO. Some other guy should have been up against her but then again why would CNN waste time with her?
Thus this is what the end result is
Mad Cow:1 Carlson:0
fifteen minutes are up Parrish.
NOW GET LOST!!
The affairs of state are much too important to be left in the hands of a moronic cow such as yourself!!
They invited her hoping she'd freak out and call people names, and she didn't even get most of the jokes. She is quite right -- she really is an insignificant little nobody and has no influence over anything. No one with a brain takes her seriously.
That's fine as far as it goes. It's when the world starts marching in a direction you don't want to go that you have to have the courage of your convictions.
Bullsshit...I live here.
LOLOL......ya think some countr would invade to get their hands on you???????? LOL. touchy aren't cha.
Damn right, and my cat loves me too.
I'm a grannie, so don't get nervous!
