I remembered. My dad signed up after Pearl Harbor. He never saw combat, but he served where they put him. His health is going downhill bigtime these days. I thanked him for his service AND for being a great Dad.

I did not forget. As I gazed at my vanilla calendar hanging on a wall, I noticed it was December 07. A day to live in
infamay. May we never forget the sacrifices our men and women had to provide from 1941 through 1945. So many lost their lives, where badly wounded, in short had their lives ruined in service to their country.
I for one stand at attention and smarly salute every man and women of the United States, Canada, and Britian that gave their lives so that the world could live in freedom.
Somehow, our children must be reminded of all the great sacrifices that where made at the front and at home to fight and vanquish those two evil empires.
Strange!
I did not see one mention on the evening news about Pearl Harbor! It is like the MSM and PBS stations I checked on ignored the day and what happened to awake a SLEEPING GIANT.

And its interesting how students seem to know about Hiroshima, but not about Pearl Harbor. I wasn't born yet, but we were taught in school about the Japanese attack and the speech by FDR was played. I shudder to think what is being taught now. Pearl Harbor and September 11 are inexorably linked and always will be for true American patriots.

"I shudder to think what is being taught now. Pearl Harbor and September 11 are inexorably linked and always will be for true American patriots."

MSM appears to want to avoid any justification for GWB going to war in Iraq. I would not be surprised in the least that in the years to come kids will peer into their American and World history books (if they are fortunate to even get books assigned them), and not see any mention of Pearl Harbor and the aftermath, and some explaination as why the Allied countries had to fight a bloody war for the freedom of the world.
This has been slowly been brewing for many years. Re-write history to suit current and planned social engineered experiments of population control etc.. Americans better wake the hell up before it is to late. Heck, just think, probably not one kid in Europe has any idea as how America came to their aid in their hour of need. Nazi kids don't even believe the Jews where almost extreminated by Hitler!
And stupid Europe keeps sinking lower and lower. Our good neighbors to our north, bless many of them, who still have their brains together, are slipping down the same path.
We live in a far more dangerous world then many of of realize. Kids don't even get taught hardly anything about our constitution, bill of rights, declaration of independents, the reasons this country developed as it did based on religious freedoms and the right to be free for the most part. OK. Slavery YES. Teach it. Show is is wrong. And explain why it is wrong, based on the high ideals this country was founded on. Where going down the tubes folks.
It is not enough for us whole have made it, educated our kids, put them through college etc., to lay back and think all is well. Think of the masses of kids now that have no concept as to how America matured into the world power it is now.
Hell all they are interested in is some rock star, whatever,
