Yeah, thank goodness for those laws.. Someone might've been killed without them.

What kind of moron are you?

Someone who is bent on killing another human despite the possibility of getting the death penalty is not going to be deterred because he might get a slap on the wrist for taking a gun into a bar.

Laws don't prevent criminal acts. They only proscribe a punishment for violating them.

WTF is that BS about?

The shooter most likely doesn't have a CPL.

Dude.... Firearms ARE against the law in bars in Ohio.

Ohio concealed carry law (see page 14)

Guess our murderer just read it.

You're the most anti-RKBA poster I've seen on Free Republic.

Yeah, some guy who wants to kill the band is going to be deterred by a gun ban.

Do you really think that a law prohibiting guns in a bar setting would stop someone who is set on murdering someone. Here's a clue...... Murder is also illegal. If the person is willing to break the law to murder then they probably would not be detered by a stupid ban on guns in a bar.
OTOH, this gunman was shot and killed by an unknown person. Maybe he was shot by a person who had a concealed weapon permit.

Congratulations on the dumbest post of the night.

And you had to defeat churchillbluff to win that honor, which is no small feat.

Why? What good did that law do? That didn't stop it because the gun didn't kill those people, that man killed them. It sounds like someone came in there with the intent of killing them. Maybe it will turn out to be a drug deal or something else that has nothing to do with the night club.

Radio called it a revenge killing. If not inside it would have happened outside as the band loaded out.

Right. Best to let the perp just keep on shooting people. Wouldn't want anyone in the crowd to stop him.

It appears the shooter wasn't there for the alcohol. He was there to kill the band members.

Good thing that law was in place or someone might have gotten shot and killed at the nightclub!

Last I knew it was illegal, yet it still happened.

Now if the gunman knew everyone in the place was armed, think he would pull his gun?

All indications are that this was premeditated. Would a law against weapons have stopped him from walking in with a weapon? Ridiculous. As ever, gun laws only restrict the law abiding.

Laws which prohibit concealed or open carry only serve to disarm the law abiding citizens.

The criminal element will always possess, carry and use guns regardless of signs, laws, rules, regulations or suggestions to the contrary.

A law abiding citizen, with a concealed weapon, probably put an end to the slaughter.
