The shooting took place shortly after 10 p.m. at Alrosa Villa, located at 5055 Sinclair Road.

I know that place. I've been there once or twice.

I would have guessed that Ohio law forbids patrons' carrying firearms into a nightclub. But I guess not.

I mean if the law forbids patrons (both law-abiding and those with criminal intent alike) from carrying into nightclubs, it would prevent something like this, right?

If there were such a "no firearms in nightclubs" law and it couldn't prevent this, then the news media would soon focus on the ineffectiveness of the law and its counterproductive nature. Counterproductive aspect of the law resulting in criminals carrying into nightclubs, but law-abiding people not carrying into nightclubs, thus making the law-abiding into sitting ducks for low-life criminals.

Security was not to blame. Good grief.

Sounds like security was a joke. I can't think of a concert I have been to in years, that didn't have metal detectors and a pat down.
