BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A senior aide to Jordanian al Qaeda ally Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has been killed by Iraqi security forces, interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi said on Tuesday.
Allawi, in a televised address to Iraq (news - web sites)'s National Council, said Iraqi police had killed Hassan Ibrahim Farhan and seized two of his aides, but did not say when or where.
Allawi said those captured were responsible for carrying out the beheadings of several hostages seized in Iraq. Zarqawi has claimed responsibility for many of the worst attacks to take place in Iraq over the past year, including beheadings of foreigners.

Have you noticed that in a lot of cases lately, the ING and the police are fighting and winning against the terrorists. They are even holding the police stations etc. and none of them seem to be running away. In other words the US forces are taking a step back and letting the ING do the nasty.
This has got to help the morale.

Yes, I've noticed that. Too bad the mainstream media chooses not to.

This is great news, especially considering that Mullah Omar's "senior aide" was caught in Afghanistan today also.
