I tried to log into Free Republic a few days ago using a motel's computer and got this! Imagine that, Free Republic blocked by Norton for crime! I took up the offer to visit the Symantec security center and found a list of options to re categorize sites and I chose news. Needless to say I was a little put out.

It's probably because we are a secret front for Halliburton.

Websense (or someone maintaining same) in the office, blocked the employee's benefit website for 4 days last month.
I suspect an employee with either (i) a warped sense of humor or (ii) a grudge of some sort.

It's probably because of the success of Operation Phoenix which decided the Presidential Election.

It's probably blocked because of all the attachments posted here. At home, you can adjust your own level of security on Norton, as well as which attachement types to screen out, but at a motel, you can't.

Perhaps due to that "hate organization" suit last year?

If you want a real laugh, Websense blocked Sacred Cow Burgers for (get this): Hacking.Websense. Our company got this program about 6 mos ago. For about 3 mos, I was still able to see FR. One day I went to log in and it was blocked...for adult content! It has been inaccesible since then.

I figured it was because the motel mgt had their security set very high. I'm sure they have guests who would visit sites that would compromise the computer and I don't really blame them. However, it made the computer pretty worthless. I couldn't even view Yahoo message boards.

He can't access this thread now, since it has the word 'crime' in the title.
