Cokie Roberts Blames Michael Moore

Former "This Week" host and National Public Radio veteran Cokie Roberts blamed conspiracy filmmaker Michael Moore on Sunday for causing Sen. John Kerry to lose the presidential election.

"I think Michael Moore actually had a very major impact - a negative impact - on the Democratic Party," Roberts told NBC's "Chris Matthews Show."

"I think he exemplified all of the things that people hate about Democrats. And the fact that he was - it was a hate-America-first campaign and that hurts the Democrats every time."

Adding insult to injury, Roberts also contended that Moore's "physical appearance did not help."

Lillian Carter looks absolutely thrilled with her station: "Damn. Sandwiched between two losers in the Presidential box at the DNC..."

JFK sure didn't distance himself from MM.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw your words was John F Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe. Guess I'm stuck in a time warp.

This bodes well for 2008. Let the idiots on the Left become even more divided.

Now the True Right needs to close ranks and give a cold shoulder to the Log Cabin and Libertine/Libertarian types who crept under our tent flap.

Kerry lost because he ran against himself. Moore's impact was just icing on the cake.

Indeed! Kerry ran as a Massachussetts liberal in a national election-- just like Dukakis!

They ran Senator Fonda from Massachusetts. The most left-wing guy in the entire Senate. Changed his position from week to week. Changed his campaign slogan from week to week too. We would come up with a good talking point of the week, and he wouldn't even respond because he was taking his jet from mansion to mansion to go snowboarding. There was the raving lunatic heiress who would be first lady. The ambulance chasing lawyer of a running mate who was so slimy he wouldn't have won re-election in his own state.

These guys not only fit every stereotype we have for whats wrong with the left, they've given us new ones we'll be using for years to come. Global test? Gin and raisins? Vote for us and we'll raise you from your wheelchairs? Short of Al Sharpton, we could not have asked for more.

And with all this on our side, we barely won. Yes we got our base out pretty well, but so did they. The idea that we won this through hard right turnout isn't born out in the numbers. The solid right base made up about the same percent of the vote it did in 2000. Where we won this was by picking up a couple more points in the unaffiliated middle. And we picked those people up cause Michael Moore and John Fonda disgusted the hell out of them.

"I think he exemplified all of the things that people hate about Democrats."

Oh, gee, I don't know about that. "All of the things"? I mean, there's so much to hate about Democrats. The list goes on and on.

Moore must have known Cokie was going to smoke him, he shaved and cleaned up for the Tonight Show.

It didn't help, did it? Kasczinsky did the same for his trial.

I've got an even better idea.

Michael Moore for Democratic presidential candidate for 2008! Their best and their brightest.

Actually, I nominate Gavin Newsome. I heard someone on CNN say he should have been Time's Man of the Year.

I could agree because I think it was the left's in your face anti tradition attitude that handed us the election. And Gavin Newsome, who seemed to think laws don't apply to anything he doesn't want them to, was more than instrumental in kicking red America in the tail. All those gays "marrying" in SF all over the TV made flyover country sit up and take notice.

Thank you, Gavin Newsome. You gave us a gift.

"what record? one bill that has become law in 20 years... I want a job like that."

Well, yes, Senator Kerry's rather shabby 20 yr record, AND what he voted against, and his ABSENTEEISM.

The most far-leftist elected U.S. senator ran for president on the Democrat party ticket. The controlling American media embraced him, defended his traitorous ideology, dismissed his Viet Nam atrosities and ignored his pro-Mao activism.

Now, the old media is going to throw pro-Hillary propaganda in our faces everyday. There are two patriotic Democrats who remain standing: Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller - that I know of at least. It's a very short line-up.

I saw a bumper sticker today - "Defend America. Defeat Bush"

I laughed all the way to the next light.

What really hurt the Democrats ,the very most, is that people don't like them.

If the Dems had the sense to run a moderate and disown Michael Moore and the Blame America First fringe, they would have won with 325 if not 350 EVs.

If turnout is over 120 million John Kerry will win with well over 300 electoral votes.

Actually, Mz Lillian (Jimmy's Mom) wasn't available for this picture. It's Mrs. Jimmy aka the Iron Magnolia, and she's been featured with scary guys before:

Oops. Perhaps I should have identified the guy with Rosalyn. It's serial killer and former Democrat precinct captain - as if there's much difference - John Wayne Gacy.

The undecideds always break toward the challenger.

Elections are not about God, guns and cultural issues.

George W. Bush is a moron.

Conservatives can not win elections.

The only thing right about conventional wisdom is how often its wrong.
