What obvious negligence?? If the guy had a clean record and no one knew what was going on... good grief, creeps and perverts don't carry signs saying "I'm molesting my students" while the school boards says, "Gee, do you think we should stop him or let him keep doing it?"
I smell a lawsuit with an eye toward a comfortable settlement. This kid's parents are about to turn his molestation into a prostitution.
Yet, they want to allow homosexuals in the Boy Scouts and are willing to destroy the organization if they don't get their way.

well, for one thing, I'd think that a note from one teacher, week after week, to excuse the same student for being late to class would raise some kind of red flag...just MHO
That's an ugly way of looking at it. You don't believe that a person has a right to sue if he's been molested? That he should just shut up and take it? For all you know, this kid may need a therapist for years. If the parents sue, that money will help pay for that therapy.
