Except this time we have the ACLU and Political Correctness to hamstring us. Meanwhile the Islamonazis don't seem to be bothered about violating the Geneva Conventions. Such Western rules only apply to abuses of captured Islamonazis.

Should be an easy choice. TAPPS schools play UIL schools all the time (just not for the marbles).

I guess TAPPS will have a choice to either Kick the Deaf Kids out of TAPPS or permit the Islamic Schools to join.

I'm not Catholic but I went to Catholic schools much of my life. I participated in sports programs and cannot recall ever competing against a non-Catholic school.

When would the students be mingling?

I find it hypocritical of homosexuals that they preach "diversity" when actually they have thrown their hands up at the notion of trying to relate to a member of the opposite sex.

Not only is the Texas School for the Deaf a member of TAPPS but so is the Giddings State School.

Therefore it would appear that TAPPS is receiving state funds.

It is tough to exclude groups when you tax money from the government.

Unfortunately, I do not think TAPPS can win this case.

TAPPS does not receive any state funds, good grief.

They are a private org that can run their membership process however they want to in a free country.

Giddings and the Deaf School do not adhere to a religion that actively murders and terrorizes Christians/others. If this situation makes the Deaf School feel they have to withdraw from TAPPS, then so be it (in my opinion).

I went to a TAPPS school and am all for what they do. However, if TAPPS has membership fees that are paid by the schools and the School for the Deaf and Giddings pay said membership fees they are accepting Tax dollars.

Where do you want to start?
The Church (both Rome and Byzantine) against the various heresies? Or maybe we could look at the crusades? And lets not forget the reformation, the thirity years war, how the Spainish dealt with the Muslims and the Jews after the reconquest of spain, while we're on the subject of Jews we could explore how they were treated. Moving right along we might take a peek at the English reformation, Cromwell (you can't swing a dead cat in parts of Ireland w/o hitting a ruined Church Abbey or Monastery thanks to Oliver) and the Irish paying attention to the Penal laws.

And that's just Europe.
The point is When you look at a large religion that's been around for any length of time you can find all kinds of nasty despicable deeds. And no one here (that I'm aware of) is saying Islam doesn't have problems, but there are those inside the Islamic world who are trying to address them. Now we can either support them , or take the simplistic view. I know which way OBL and the terrorists want us to go, because people like Mohamed Sifaoui, Omar Karsou, Salaheddine Sidhoum, Mansour al-Nogaidan, and many of the Iraqi blogger scare the hell out of them.

Same here (we always figured they were afraid of us :-)), That's changed here in Mn. at least when it comes to HS hockey.

When would the students be mingling?

Other than on the field, or at award dinners, I have no idea.

Why?

Muslims are taught to live in ostensible submission to non-muslim governments until they become powerful enough to gain the upperhand at which time all bets are off.

Are there Muslims who are genuinely interested in a permanent live-and-let-live philosophy? Certainly--but they are the exception, not the rule. Nonetheless, even if there was, say, a fifty-fifty split between 'radicals' and the more passive brand, is it unreasonable for TAPPS to ask the questions they have in order to determine in which category this school falls?

I don't think that's how it works... if a state or federal organization buys any product or service, that organization they buy from is not deemed to "have accepted tax dollars". They just made a sale.

The acceptance of tax dollars that would possibly restrict an organization in how they behave is usually (I assume) specific to the acceptance of some sort of federal or state grant/funding process, during which time they sign an agreement that they will behave in XYZ manner. I am confident that when TAPPS receives a membership dues check from Giddings or TSD they are not required to sign this sort of agreement before cashing the check... they are not accepting federal dollars in that sense you described/claimed. See the difference?

Regards.
