Martin B. Cominsky, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League, said the letter "assumes some offensive stereotypes about what Islam is all about."

Stereotypes, perhaps, but the Muslims must admit it's in the Quaran and every self-appointed cleric preaches, "Make war on them (Christians and Jews) until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme."

We need more people to have the guts to stand up to this evil cult.

Bingo... the truth and exposing their vile, bigoted "holy book" and their false prophet pedophile Muhammed (pork be upon him) is what they fear most.

Hooper is a liar and a hypocrite.

Besides demanding an apology, Galloway's group has asked for reprimands against those responsible for the letter.

I guess the alternative of entering into a meaningful dialog was out of the question for Galloway's group. That's nice - someone asks you a question, demand an apology. What is that, like a straw-man non-sequitur with a left spin begging the question?

A couple of thoughts
1 Being a private org they could make a good argument that they can choose who they let in.
BUT
ARTICLE II

The Purpose of TAPPS is and shall be to organize, to stimulate, to encourage and to promote the academic, athletic and fine arts programs in an effort to foster a spirit of fair play, good fellowship, true sportsmanship and wholesome competition for boys and girls.

ARTICLE III

Membership:

1. Membership in TAPPS is limited to private and parochial schools in the state of Texas, with students enrolled in grades 9-12.

a. Private schools are defined as those schools that are established, conducted and primarily supported by a non-government agency -or- primarily supported by student tuition.

2 On the basis of the above it appears that Dar-Ul-Arqam meets these requirements.

3 It appears TAPPS Director Edd Burleson has been a bit....selective in his choice of verses to quote
("And seek not occasions for mischief in the land: for Allah loves not those who do mischief" (28:77)
(when it is said to them; 'Make not mischief on the Earth', they say; 'We are only peace makers'. Indeed they are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive it not"
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:11-12)
To site but two

4 Often here people say that Muslims are not integrating into American society, well here we have a case where some are. And what do we see?
"I thought the whole point of private schools was to avoid all the PC diversity garbage-this person needs to just go away."
by Texan5

"Once again the Muslim is handcuffed to the Idiotic Koran, and their only tactic is to feign shock at Islams detractors. Too bad!"
by BOOTSTICK

"Like......there's no "venom" is the bastard book of satan known as the koran? This is typical role-playing by the poor, persecuted moo-slums. Poor F-in babies......And of course the All Criminal Lovers Union is right behind them all the way....
by dzzrtrock

And last but certainly not least there's Happy2BMe's simplistic one sided view of islam.

5 Referendum to Amend the TAPPS Constitution to Remove the Home School Umbrella Program and Allow Home School Groups to Join TAPPS and Participate in a Home School Group Division
http://www.tapps.net/

If a Muslim homeschooler wanted to join would they be welcome? If not I'd suggest TAPPS change their name to something like Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools no dogs or ragheads.

6 My what a wonderful opportunity for so many Freepers to show the world just what they think it means to be an American. Me. I stand with another Texan when he said "Islam is a vibrant faith. Millions of our fellow citizens are Muslim. We respect the faith. We honor its traditions.”

- President Bush, October 11, 2002

Flame ON.

I assure you, this school would not be welcome in TAPPS by the other schools

Why?

"This is why vouchers are such a terrible idea. They will be immediately used by the Islamists to isolate and brainwash their children."

LOL!

SO according to you, it's better if public schools IGNORE that Muslims are trained to hate Jews and Christians. Keep em in the dark in some kind of a enucimal utopia? Never mind that the percentage of Muslims here is minuscule and millions of kids are being mislead about what Muslims ARE about/ Never mind that a public school education is a training ground for future empty headed liberals that feast on non education and relativism.

Wrong.

How did 9-11 or the mess tent attack this week meet the first criteria listed in Article II:

"...an effort to foster a spirit of fair play, good fellowship, true sportsmanship and wholesome competition for boys and girls"?

Almost 100% of the posters on this thread do not agree with our President's statement that Islam is a religion of peace, because it's not. Any intellectually honest examination of the Koran reveals this - did you not even look at http://prophetofdoom.net?

Edd Burleson simply asked questions about the Koran, which in light of the real world events going on is perfectly understandable. This school is already a member of a Muslim private school group, let them stay there. If they wish to join TAPPS they have to be approved by it's 9 member board, and evidently they won't be approved. Period. It's a private organization, and they can make any reasonable decision they see fit. I for one applaud their common sense. We've not forgotten that here in Texas...

I think the over reaction to this letter is exactly what TAPPs was seeking to find out. Had these people just answered the questions, they probably would have been admitted.

The very fact that they reacted the way that they did, and immediately ran to CAIR makes them undesirable as members. Had the questions been approached in an intellectual manner, citing the portions of the Koran that more than offset those quotes, the board would have known that this school would be a worthy addition. But it was not, and the letter served the purpose of exposing that.

Wrong.

What do those attacks have to do with this school? Unless you have proof that they support terrorists it has nothing, other than the murdering scumbags that did it did SAY they did for Islam.

Good point. It would be interesting to see the tone of the letter written by TAPP.

How many ACLU members have names like "Alamdar Hamdani"? Are such members the source of the ACLU campaign against Christmas?

That's how they are related - they are an Islamic school, who follow the teachings of this book. This book/religion motivated these scumbags to do these attacks, in fact it encourages them. Capiche?

The best able institution to help poor children attend religious schools is the local parish church, be it Catholic, Protestant, etc, but in a previous case before SCOTUS (Burger or Warren era), the Supreme Court said that Churches could NOT directly aid, in whole or part, the private religous education of its congregation. Meaning the old way of funding schools (usually each attached to its own church, and vice versa) was from the tithe and other financial support given by the congregation. But the court said Churches couldn't do that--interfering in an internal sectarian matter because it aids a secular purpose.
