Both these young men that joined the military in a time of war are couragous and worthy of respect.

I also went through bootcamp at Fort Benning and I joined during Desert Shield back in 1990. When I got to Panama, my first assignment, that's when Desert Storm started, the very first day I got there.

Pacifists really bug me, they seem to think the only time to use our military is when our borders are in danger of being overrun. By the time our borders are in danger of being overrun, I think it is more then likely too late to do anything about it.

Like Sauron sending out his orcs to conquer Gondor in The Lord of the Rings, the enemy in real life does not attack unless they feel they have the advantage and can defeat you. If we continually play the defensive war, eventually, someday, we will be defeated and there will probably not be another country like ours ever again once this one falls.

I'd rather have a king like Theoden who yells "DEATH!" to the enemies, then a pacifist king like that limp-wristed Aragorn who would rather prance around looking good to female elves, rather then take up the mantle of kingship
early on in his life and having prevented Sauron from becoming the menace he did become which almost wiped man
off the face of the world.
