Most of the countries affected are largely muslim population or all muslim.

It's comments like these that tempt me to say that religion is a source of great evil in this world.....but I'll restrain myself.

Oh wait. Maybe it's this and the religious folks on FR who think that bugs are demons and an Island near Haiti washed away will like this:

Since the quakes occurred on the 26th, the day after Christs birth is celebrated, Satan, who lives under the crust of the earth, got really, really mad down there at all the happy people up above and his anger caused the ground to crack, thereby causing the quakes.

Sound good?

I was posing the question...not making the statement as truth.

It is dangerous to go around declaring the will of God as evident in these tragic events. It just doesn't get "us Christians" very far, if you know what I mean.

Such declarations tend to impeach the character of God while alluding that we have some special knowledge of God acting on "our" behalf by slaughtering other humans.

Speculating this was God's punishing will, based on coincident events without any prophetic knowledge that this was indeed God, and not simply a natural disaster, would achieve what?

Wouldn't such logic prove that 9/11 was "God" talking to us and rewarding the Muslims fanatics? Seems like a dangerous path for a Christian to tread.

The way the kookists get around that is by claiming disasters affecting mostly Christian nations are the withdrawal of "protection" by God from Christians straying from the path, so therefore Florida being hit by a hurricane is because Disney World has a "Gay Day" or Northridge getting hit by an earthquake is because of legalized abortion.

I'm not making either of the above up, either. The fact that Disney World was essentially undamaged from all the hurricanes this year in FL, and most of the destruction was to elderly retirees and military bases and whatnot, doesn't seem to faze them.

"So you're suggesting someone orchestrated these natural disasters one year apart?
Who do you think is behind this dastardly plot?"

Just give the DUmmies some time and they'll be dropping Rove's name..

Maybe the Egyptians were right and we should all be praying to the Sun God. It's Rahs (sp?) fault.

I'm only arguing this one point, because your first three sentences/observations make good sense. However, the logic does not extend to 911 because that was a human-made disaster not a natural one.

Natural disasters do seem to be appearing with greater frequency than usual, a biblical sign to many no matter where the disaster occurs.

Actually, this could be a calling card of Ming the Merciless. I saw the Flash Gordon re-run on TV this weekend and he must be up for his regular 1000 yr visit

"As a Bible believing Christian, I would say you are trying to troll...
Back in the day natural disasters happened and pagans died. But when God struck, a Prophet is first sent to warn and get people to repent. Was this the case?"

Well, actually Jesus prophesied about the end times and earthquakes in Matthew 23. I am not suggesting that God directly controlled the earthquakes, just saying that according to prophesy, this will increase as the "birth pangs of distress" before the great tribulation.
