50 Israeli Tanks Enter Gaza
The Australian ^ | January 02, 2005 | From correspondents in Gaza City

Posted on 01/02/2005 1:22:49 AM PST by West Coast Conservative

THE Israeli army launched a new incursion into the northern Gaza Strip today, witnesses and security sources said, shortly after it wrapped up an operation in the south of the territory.

Around 50 tanks and armoured vehicles poured into the Beit Hanun area, close to the Erez border crossing between Israel and the Palestinian territory.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has given the military a free rein to put a halt to rocket attacks by militant groups who often target the southern Israeli city of Sderot.

The incursion into Beit Hanun comes after the army withdrew from the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza where it had been operating to stop militants firing rockets and mortars at nearby Israeli settlements.

Eleven Palestinians were killed since the launch of the operation on Wednesday.

Well, Israeli Air Force is not known to possess heavy bombers, thus they have to do with what they have.

I thought it was a very nice gesture for Israel to offer to send help to Sri Lanka.

They aren't the bad guys that the United Nincompoops and the rest of the world make them out to be.

They haven't been to the polls yet. Jan 9 I think. But Abbas is likely to "win".

Er, not quite. They went into northenr Gaza when militants in northern Gaza have fired two rockets at the town of Sderot, wounding at least one person.

50 MOABs would have been more effective AND sent a better message.

Notice that the "militents" fire rockets into "Israeli settlements," but "Eleven Palestinians were killed." So Jews are not the target, it is the "Israeli settlements," that are the target, but, Israel kills "Eleven Palestinians." So, Israel targets Palestinians and the "Militents" target settlements.

Has Israel ever had a seat on the UN Security Council? If no, is there a rule, treaty, behind the scenes deal, that prohibits them for having a seat as one of the rotating members?

It is called the Principality of Beelzebub over phantasms (that is to say prince of demons).

As long as this continues, there will never be peace in that part of the world.
