Right threatens escalating resistance

As settler leaders dug in their heels for the second day of a mass no-end demonstration opposite the Knesset Tuesday, far-right activists warned of an escalation in the struggle against the disengagement plan, promising that violence displayed at the evacuation of an illegal outpost near Yitzhar Monday was "just the beginning."

Following Monday's standoff near the settlement of Yizhar during which settlers struggled against troops attempting to clear two caravans from an illegal outpost, Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz demanded that offenders who attack IDF soldiers be tried and punished with appropriate severity.

Mofaz exhorted Police Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi, Attorney General Menahem Mazuz and IDF advocate Brig.-Gen. Avihai Mandelblit to not put up with such criminal behavior, Army Radio reported.

Speaking at a private conference with senior army officers, Mofaz declared, "I will not permit the red line to be crossed. Criminals like those we saw yesterday are not a part of us."

On Tuesday, a flyer signed by "anonymous soldiers" was distributed to settlers and right-wing activists, calling on them to disguise themselves as IDF soldiers when coming to resist the planned evacuation of Gaza Strip settlements.

Referring to an IDF soldier who attempted to block comrades from evacuating the Yitzhar outpost, the flyer read: "The soldier's participation in the resistance to the evacuation caused an embarrassment, confusion and a loss of senses in the government and the IDF."

"We will arrive at the battle with our IDF uniforms," the flyer continued."In our uniforms we call on the deporting forces not to participate in the horrible crime and we will make them understand that we are part of the IDF just like they are."

"The idea is to confuse the security forces so they won't be able to tell who is with them and who is against them," said one of the initiative's organizers. "We have many more surprises [planned] and this is just the beginning."

The activists rejected claims by Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief Avi Dichter Tuesday that members of the far-right plan to provoke settlers into firing at security forces during the evacuation.

"He is trying to escalate the tension in the country by spreading vicious lies and rumors," one activist said. "We do not intend to open fire on the evacuating forces and what Dichter is trying to do is cover up for the soldiers and policemen who will open fire on us first."

Hundreds of settlers and supporters filled the tents erected along the road leading to the Knesset Tuesday as part of the Kiev-like anti-disengagement protest launched Monday. Settler leaders said they will stay outdoors until Prime Minister Ariel Sharon calls for a national referendum over the Gaza Strip evacuation plan.

The highlight of the day was a meeting by the National Union faction which was held inside one of the tents as an act of solidarity. At the meeting, Benzi Lieberman - head of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip – denounced settler's violent behavior at Yitzhar on Monday.

"Violence and weapons are forbidden," Lieberman told the National Union MKs. "If however the government does not begin to reinstate democracy here the passion of thousands of people will be inextinguishable."

MK Eliezer "Cheeta" Cohen told the settler leaders that difficulty in evacuating the Yitzhar outpost should serve as a warning for Sharon.

"The people have begun to dictate from below what will be," Cohen said. "The resistance to the dismantling of the two caravans [at Yitzhar] showed the government that they will never succeed in evacuating even one settlement in Gaza."

What a shame. Trouble between Israelis over a plan to try to have peace with the murderous Palestinians who don't want peace but rather the destruction of Israel.

The Left will appease and retreat before the Arab.
But will they shoot the Jews who defy their orders?

Look up the Altalena incident where a certain captain in the Haganah named Yitzak Rabin ordered the sinking of an Irgun ship that carried munitions and refugees.

Hashem does not like it when Jews fight Jews. The Jewish people are meant to be a "Light unto the Nations" and are to lead by example. The different world views of many groups are clashing at the moment. Here's hoping that eternal peace and sanctuary is found for all of the residents of the Holy Land and of Planet Earth.

The fascist Israeli goverment is sacrificing religious Jews and Jewish land to the demons (with America's Blessing) in exchange for "peace" with genocidal arabs.

And yes, it is already happening here in the US. We have sacrificed our rights and freedoms in order that the same muslim enemy isn't "offended."

Things need to change, and quickly or it's all going to come down.
