Bush's Re-Election May Be Challenged

Presidential Vote Certification Faces Objection
WASHINGTON — When the joint session of Congress meets Thursday to certify the Electoral College votes that gave President Bush his second term, several Democratic House members are expected to contest the results.

They may also find support from Sen. Barbara Boxer (search), D-Calif., whose participation under congressional rules would then require senators and representatives to recess to their respective chambers to debate certification.

The action would be the first of its kind in 36 years, but most likely won't add up to more than a procedural delay of the inevitable.

According to the choreography of the certification, after the House is called to order and the senators arrive from their chamber, the joint session begins with Vice President Dick Cheney (search) leading the activities.

The "certificates of vote" from each of the states will be called out and the number of votes designated for president and vice president will be reported on four separate paper tallies. At the end of the reading of all 50 states and the District of Columbia's votes, the four tellers responsible for recording the tallies will compare results and sign off on them. Cheney will then announce the totals and order them into the record.

I've given up trying to figure it out. I listen to the folks at work, and it is simply astounding the convoluted logic they use to come with the conclusions they do.

Barbara buys into their little socialist pipe dreams. She gets a lot of the college croud's votes because she doesn't care if women abort chilcren five years after birth, just so long as they get to chose to kill their kids.

Okay so I'm exagerating, but the exageration makes about as much sense as what is truely taking place.

I heard a number the other day. I'd always thought of the aborted children in terms of U.S. deaths. The other day I saw a figure of something like 100 or perhaps 160 million abortions in the last 40 years worldwide.

Is this one sick orb or what?

Blondee, I've never ventured over there...into the dark area of the woods. I'm scared and don't want to get dirty. Thanks, but I'll rely on you and will hold your garden hose on you, for you, upon return. Thanks.

Watch for an ingnorant governor from one of the smaller states, with big teeth and a country bumpkin mannor in 2008.

Good grief, how well do you know Tom Vilsack? Of course, he adopts the bumpkin manner because it plays well here (he's actually from the East somewhere).

Another Democratic leadership aide told FOX News that there is "not going to be a vote on this," referring to any objections, and explained that instead, Boxer may go the floor to talk about the voting problems that occurred in 2004.

Let Babs blab. It won't change anything

I was actually thinking of someone from Georgia that followed up McGovern. Kerry being the 2004 McGovern, I was looking for the 2008 Carter. I wasn't thinking of Vilsak. Interesting that you bring him up though, as I have heard him mentioned as a fresh new prospect.

Nothing the left stands for makes much sense to me.... They claim to be for human rights, but not willing to fight for those rights. Hundreds of thousands can be put to death by Saddam Hussein and his henchman and they are willing to become human shields to prevent his forced removal, yet these same misguided folks complain when we didn't interfere in the overthrow of the murderous Dictator Aristide in Haiti.

The bottom line is that liberals are cowards... They support human rights, just as long as they don't have to confront the despots who deny their people of the rights they enjoy.

Yes, there's really no rationality on the left. And you know what, that's why I demand it from the right.

Does any of us really want to affiliate with irrationality, like what passes for logic for the left in 2005?

I've got to hit the hay. Have a good night.

"Bush's Re-Election May Be Challenged"

YAWN.
In related news, the Bush-haters will shoot themselves in the foot yet again, and Republicans will in even more sets in 2006.
Nothing new in that.

My God, I hope they challeng it!

- Losing the Presidential race

- Losing seats in both the House and the Senate

- Challenge the results and commit political suicide

That would be the icing on the cake! It would set these scum back 20 years! I say, "BRING IT ON!"

Interesting that you bring him up though, as I have heard him mentioned as a fresh new prospect.

Oh, he's most definitely a prospect; and has the advantage of the Iowa "first in nation" caucus. Dangerous man. Socialist who cloaks himself in "down-home" goodness; lawyer, of course. One of his first proposals as governor was that we should bring in as many immigrants as possible to shore up our state population. Was met with a resounding "thud," 70% disapproval, and an "English as the official language of Iowa" law.

Frankly, I'm not sure he has the personality to pull it off; and his wife is a bit of a flake. She has childrens' reading celebrations every year & makes him dress up; so we have all kinds of great photos of him dressed as the "Mad Hatter," & "Winnie the Pooh" characters if we ever need them...LOL! The Dems sure seem to like him, though.

Isn't that a hoot. I've seen him described in the media as a real conservative democrat. Not knowing anything about the guy, I was waiting to hear more. Now you've just confirmed my suspicions. The dems will never learn. They are going to have to come back to the middle or else.

I must say though, if the right keeps pandering to the illegal, the fact that he attempted to is going to be a mute point.

Thanks for the insight.
